Alarm Meeting Notification Issue

I've seen it posted a few times in here, but haven't really found a reliable solution. So, I'm wondering if anyone knows the cause, and hopefully the fix, for the issue of the alarm/meeting notification popup not showing up?

When the alarm went off in the past, it used to popup on the bottom of the screen with the option to dismiss or snooze. Now I only get the notification in the icon area and have to hit the alarm bell to get it to popup. Same with meetings. My email and SMS popups work fine, it's just the reminders and alarm.

I have the custom start icons update and S2U2 v 1.35 as my only real additions to the phone, in addition to some small apps like barcorama and lightsaber. Stock ROM and everything else. The popup was working with the custom start icons and S2U2 until very recently. No real rhyme or reason why it's not working now. I've tried soft reset a few times and nothing.
