Re: Looking for a car mount.

The mount Iiimik3 is using is usually marketed under the brand name IGrip. But you can get the same thing for much cheaper here. I have one from that Ebay seller and it works great with the Touch Pro. (Originally got it when I had an 800w. It can hold most any smart phone.) That car mount can hold my Touch Pro standing up or sideways.

Re: Looking for a car mount.

another good review for the bracketron brand. I was stunned at how well such an inexpensive mounting kit held up. The suction cup kit hold my TP firmly in place, even when i am driving around like a maniac. It even leaves the bottom of the device open so i can plug in my charging/audio cables. This is one of the few products these days that is actually worth the money you pay for it...

just my $.02

Re: Looking for a car mount.

FWIW, if anyone cares, I called seidio today to ask about car mounts for the TP and was basically told not to hold my breath. I love their stuff, had holsters and car kits for the 6600, 6700, and 6800, but am about to give up on them for the TP.

Although ProClip USA doesn't have horizontal, keyboard-open models for the CDMA Touch Pro, Brodit (ProClip manufacturer) makes one, and some of their European distributors sell it. If ProClip doesn't add it shortly, I'm going to order it from one of them:

ProClip used to sell the horizontal mount, then stopped selling it. I have no idea why. But it does not appear that the horizontal mount would hold the device as steady. Since it's just holding part of the lower part of the slider. Notice how what Iiimik3 is using holds the full bottom part and part of the top piece of the slider. That probably takes the bumps on the road better. I have the same mount as Iiimik3. I don't use it horizontal much at all, just played with having it horizontal at times and it seems very tight, because that mount is adjustable.

Re: Looking for a car mount.

I would like to get the ProClip, but I can't give up my Seidiio Innocase. I don't suppose there is a chance that the ProClip would fit with the Innocase on?

Anyone with experience? (Touch Pro)

tia,
Skid

edit Thanks for the heads up darnell (is it alright if I call you Crabman?)
bummer it won't work. Guess I'll have to find another solution.

Well you know BodyGuardz is way thinner than the Innocase, so check out this comment and I think you'll realize there's no way your TP will fit with the Innocase on.

Re: Looking for a car mount.

any mounts that just clip to the vents? I don't really like suction cups.

Re: Looking for a car mount.

I have one that slides out left to right and a little bit forward. I used it for my ipod initially, but now I just use it for my phone. I'm trying to find one that would allow me to place my phone sideways so I can record video right side up.
