Ifonz plugin for Touch Pro

This is a application that can replace your touchflo which works really good, and Ive been using it for about 2 days now, and really love it.
Its a copy of the iphone application menu.

Hears the link to download, and all you have to do after download is copy all the files into your phones windows folder.

http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-ifonz.html

the start up animation you see on that video can be disabled in the se
ttings.

Dont mean to offend, but that interface looks horrible. I wouldnt want that on my TP. If your looking for iother options, have you tried SPB Pocket Plus? I used it on the my Mogul and it was great.

How come you dont like TouchFlo?

I dont use touchflo because it slows down the phone when on, and it really shows how much faster the phone is with touchflo off, and ill check out the pocketplus interface.

No kidding.

I use SPB Mobile Shell when I want more functionality than TF3D.

Thanks for the info, but I definitely would not use this over TF3D.

I disagree with some of you guys, iFonz 1.1.2 is actually pretty good and better than a lot of the previous clones. The screenshots above do not do it justice at all. You can customize with nicer looking icons, backgrounds, and transitional animations. It lets you put the icons anywhere you want and also gives notifications for mail, missed calls, voicemail, texts, and displays the date correctly. It also has a transitional animation between tabs and also zooms in/out when you open/close apps - setting it apart from the other iPhone clones. You can set an unlimited amount of tabs it seems like for applications and contacts, so some could argue that it is more functional than touchflo3d. The only problem is that the OP is kind of late with this UI, it's been out for a while now.
You should check out some videos of it in action, here is one (keep in mind you can set it to engage on startup): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoEO65VM3X4
Check this thread to see other people's iFonz home screens (especially post #223, i like that one a lot): http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ght=post+ifonz

As slick as iFonz is, I don't really see why anyone would remove even more of the Today screen functionality than TF3D does. IMO the Today screen is one of the best features of WinMo.

True, i'm still in the honeymoon stages i guess. I have tf3d, secondtoday for access to the today screen, mobile shell mapped to soft keys, and when i feel like it i use ifonz. I know it's unnecessary to have all of them, but it's nice to switch it up from time to time.

and to the OP, if you want some nicer icons for iFonz go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424678
Unfortunately, the guy who made all those icons is leaving WM for an iPhone, so you won't be seeing any new icons from him.

Oh, i've only made a few icons myself... most of them are by bluemetalaxe over at xda (like i noted and linked in the previous post). He's leaving for an iPhone though, so no more icons from him :(
My bro did get his PSD file for making icons easier, so I'm able to make icons that look similar. Just want to make sure credit is given where it's due.
I just had to post my screenshots here, so people know ifonz customizing capabilities.

lol, people thought i had an iPhone anyway (even when I had a mogul!)... they see me touching a screen and they automatically think iPhone. Shows you how well apple/att advertised their top phone.
I'm happy to tell them no and then show them the many choices of interfaces that I have, including one that's similar to the iphone. That reminds me, I hope the guys at xda get android working decently on the Touch Pro soon...

I'm using a Mac computer and I want to try this IFONZ out but I can't figure out how to get a .cab for it. I downloaded the .zip file but it only has a .exe no .cab. Any ideas/suggestions?

You dont need a cab for this application, all you have to do is extract it on your sd card, and then on your phone go to your sd card, and start it from there.

Do I have to use Total Commander or something because I can't seem to figure out how to intall it once I put the zib file on my storage card. The file the readme says to install keeps giving me an error saying "The file '._iFonz' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reintalling or restoring this file."

Any suggestions? BTW, I'm pretty new to PPC's so be easy on me :)

Make sure that you extract the files first before you put the folder on your sd card, and you also have to have Netframwork 3.5 installed on your phone, once you have netframework3.5 installed, just go to file explorer on your phone and click on the sd card, and then run ifonz from there and it should work, no installing is nessassry.

Perhaps you have the QVGA version? Go to the link on the first page and make sure to download the VGA version if you didn't know...
And if you do have the VGA version already, go into the settings in iFonz and click on "icons." Set the width and height to 96x96. You could also be using iconsets that are sized too small. All my icons are sized 96x96. Make sure the icons you download have dimmensions similar to this or they will look stretched if you increase them in settings. Goodluck.

Oh, and go here for some nice looking icons (be sure to download only the ones labeled 96): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424678

So you don't actually install anything, you just run it from you SD?

and there's also another "store" being developed by someone else on those forums too

Even if we had a great Microsoft app store, there will always be betaware that isn't listed on there - and people will still have questions. As for this app in particular, you think a Microsoft store would put an app like iFonz on there? That would be like promoting the iPhone.

Good point. Though I honestly feel MS wouldn't mind apps like iFonz in their app store. Heck - they developed a pretty dope app for the iPhone/iPod Touch. Photosynth is AMAZING!

Looks good. I think I might check it out but I still like Ultimate Launcher.

It puzzles me how strongly people defend TF3D (see first few threads). It's nice to look at but it's not THAT good. It has a snazzy interface but it actually can adds a few unnecessary steps if all you want to do is run a couple of different Apps.

I dont understand... the Touch Pro is such a powerful device with 3D graphics but the transitioning is so sluggish in iFonz. Is it that the creator didn't use the drivers the Touch Pro has?

Which transitions? If you're talking about page swipes, then you can change the speed - go to the iFonz settings > various options > animation slide > put speed slider all the way to the right. Hope that was your problem.

and you might want to change your phone info, still says mogul.

i've had issues with this as well. I like the interface as it allows you to have common used apps readily available, but when trying to launch it, it normally takes a little longer than using the tf3d.

is there a way to speed up the launching time?

thanks

This is GREAT. Thanks OP, I never realized this was out there. To all the Iphone haters; some of us LOVE the iphone interface but refuse to pay ATTs outrageous prices PLUS need a hard keybaord. This is the perfect compromise. Now if only I could get the TP to run as fast as my coworkers iphone. Sad we have to do so much crap to get our phones as good as what apple sends right out of the box [ducks from rotten tomatos :p ]
