Tom Tom software available for North America?

If I go to the Tom Tom site with my location set to the United States, they don't seem to offer just the software for Windows Mobile. If I change my location to Europe, then the software is offered.

Does Tom Tom software exist for the North American Market without buying a device with it?

I don't think so.
I thought I read somewhere that people were having success pulling the Tomtom cab from another device, and then buying new maps from Tomtom, but now I can't find it.
Also sharing that kind of info here usually gets you in trouble.

For now I'm content with Google maps with street view...
