No email notification sound
 

I have a bell mobility touch pro and i am loving this phone!

One thing thats strange though is that I can't get any sort of notification when a new email arrives.. i'm in the notifications tab and I pick a sound, check the box and also check the vibrate box but when a new email arrives it doesn't vibrate or make any noise! The dpad lights up and the manilla email icon turns green but no noise or vibration, help!

fyi: txt/sms and phone notifications work perfect

You try playing the sound when you select what sound you want for each notification to make sure it works?

yup, i press the play button and it works fine..

Weird, is it a custom alert you made? Try using a different stock alert and see if that works when you get an email.

Something has to be wrong with that specific alert if your text and mms work properly.

i've tried almost every alert in the list.. the vibrate option doesn't work either.. i am contemplating a hard reset.

When you receive the notification is your phone suspended? ( Screen off)

My phone only sometimes notifys me of email. It's really annoying. I've found that if I turn off the phone with the email application open I never get a sound. -And only sometimes with it closed. The phone is nice, but REALLY BUGGY!

i've tried it with the phone on and screen on, phone locked screen on, phone locked screen off, phone off screen off every way i can think of ](*,)

I also have the Bell HTC Touch Pro as do 4 others in my company. I can confirm 100% that the audio and vibrate alert for incoming email is not functioning.

I spoke to HTC and this is a known issue on the Bell HTC Touch Pro's only. Expect an MR at some point. Not sure timing of the release.

It was also driving me crazy. You can stop trying various settings, nothing will fix it.
