No email notification sound
 
I have a bell mobility touch pro and i am loving this phone!

One thing thats strange though is that I can't get any sort of notification when a new email arrives.. i'm in the notifications tab and I pick a sound, check the box and also check the vibrate box but when a new email arrives it doesn't vibrate or make any noise! The dpad lights up and the manilla email icon turns green but no noise or vibration, help!

fyi: txt/sms and phone notifications work perfect

You try playing the sound when you select what sound you want for each notification to make sure it works?

yup, i press the play button and it works fine..

Weird, is it a custom alert you made? Try using a different stock alert and see if that works when you get an email.

Something has to be wrong with that specific alert if your text and mms work properly.

i've tried almost every alert in the list.. the vibrate option doesn't work either.. i am contemplating a hard reset.

When you receive the notification is your phone suspended? ( Screen off)

My phone only sometimes notifys me of email. It's really annoying. I've found that if I turn off the phone with the email application open I never get a sound. -And only sometimes with it closed. The phone is nice, but REALLY BUGGY!

i've tried it with the phone on and screen on, phone locked screen on, phone locked screen off, phone off screen off every way i can think of ](*,)

I also have the Bell HTC Touch Pro as do 4 others in my company. I can confirm 100% that the audio and vibrate alert for incoming email is not functioning.

I spoke to HTC and this is a known issue on the Bell HTC Touch Pro's only. Expect an MR at some point. Not sure timing of the release.

It was also driving me crazy. You can stop trying various settings, nothing will fix it.

No problem, since I know the guys both at Bell and HTC, I am on them and reminding them. Hopefully it will be soon, but you know how these things are. It may be a low priority, not sure.

I am pushing for a pre-release as well, maybe we can get an advanced fix.

Any update? Just got my TP yesterday and already found this problem :(

I installed the bell ui on my sprint touch pro, and my email notification sound stopped. i dont know how to get it back.

Ah, so it's the Bell UI that eliminates the sound notification...interesting that even with the Bell Ui not selected, it still doesn't fix the sound.

Anyways, install the .cab above, it will bring the sound/vibrate alerts back.

anybody know if this will work on a sprint tp for sms sounds? I am having a similar problem. My sms sound doesn't work. I don't use push email so I don't know if that works or not. I have sound enabled and have tried custom tones and stock tones and neither work. They do play in the sounds and notifications options though. Very frustrating! I get lots of sms and need this to work!

off-topic...

i'm also with bell... when i remove my battery (to emulate an extreme low battery situation), i can't seem to get my connection back to the bell cell network even after i re-charged my battery (or put my battery back in when i emulate the situation). now i'm wondering if it is possible that this is a bell only problem as well. hbenz200 said he didn't see the problem in his phone, but he's not with bell.

have any of you guys with bell ever had an extremely low bat situation or removed your battery out? did you see this problem. i dare not ask you guys to try by removing your batteries as the only fix i found is a hard reset ;-)

I'm with Sprint and experiencing the same issues with no sound with email notification. I tried the patch but did NOT fix the issue. Any other suggestions?

I am on Telus and am having the same problem... but this patch hasn't fixed it. I just installed it to my system memory... is there anything else I have to do?

I too am with Sprint (juicy ROM) and have this problem. The cab does not fix anything. Help please.
