That really sucks about Kinoma & they have flat out refused to address this despite repeated request from advanced users to change this.

It's easy to fix however if you have Resco Explorer (great app) In Resco, you can click "open with" just like on your PC & get the same checkbox for "always use this app to open this type of file".

I like Kinoma & have the paid version, but the next thing I do after installing it is to open Resco & undo all the file associations.........

but i really just think that my gps doesnt work because my ie wont pull in data. i believe they work together,

Ie &GPS really have nothing to do with each other.

I have a Titan sitting here that is not activated for cell service & has no data connection at all, but the GPS still works just fine.

In Resco Explorer, click & hold down on any file. You then get a pop up with a bunch of options including open. Click open, then "open with" & click the program you want to use. It will then give you the "always use this program to open this type of file" checkbox just like Windows on your PC.

oh ok. does that mean you do this for each file? and there is nothing that can be changed in Kinoma itself...

Yea, but it's no big deal. You can't change anything in Kinoma (it's like the ultimate noob app). You just open Resco & say for instance click on any jpeg & set it to open with s2v. From then on, any time you click a jpeg it will open in s2v.

There aren't really that many file associations that matter, I change jpegs & a few others but it is simple to do & you only have to do it once..
