Re: Exil3d's Battery Life Guide

now The gave me a new battery, it seems not to get as hot as it did before, so Now I'ma goin to test and see if it stops charging....BOOTLEG FIX: take off battery cover and place you hand over the battery....you body absorbs the heat and battery keeps charging!

Re: Exil3d's Battery Life Guide

Actually, that does work. Holding your hand across the back. It absorbs some heat and helps it to keep charging.

In playing with this problem, I found another 'bootleg' fix. The speaker holes on the top of the device are a prime spot for cool air to get into the device and help cool off the hottest part. Problem is, the speaker is in the way, but only a bit. Blowing firmly but not excessively hard with your mouth relatively close to the phone seems to help a great deal.

My device suffers from the getting to hot to charge problem and while it was in this state, I tried the solution. Three times I blew cool air through the device and it almost immediately began charging again and finished up at 100% without further need for me to mess with it.

Not that I want to have to manually cool my phone off every time I need to use it while I charge it, but this is better than nothing for me.

Re: Exil3d's Battery Life Guide

as far as battery tests, is this thread dead? still waiting on a mp3 playback test (not streaming music) with the radio on, screen off... basically an mp3 player while still being able to get calls... figured that would be one of the first tests... may just do this one myself i guess. thanks for the other tests.

Sorry I have not updated lately. I switched gears and currently trying to figure out what exactly makes Juggs 4.0 rom run soo much smoother. I have both my Pros on custom roms and cannot do battery test until I get one of them back to stock. I will update by wednesday.

Re: Exil3d's Battery Life Guide

You're testing too many things at once.

Test 1. Radio OFF (Flight mode) LCD On Brightness full, no timeout/sleep, not running anything - sitting in TF3d Backlight 50% - tests run time for LCD only. Expected result, less then 4 hours. Could surprise me and go 6 hours. Cpu Idle will draw 40-50ma, screen 130ma+

Test 2. Radio ON Data ON LCD Off, stream audio (wired headset, volume low is fine) - tests run time on radio/voice call essentially the same, expected result 3.5 hours, same as max talk time, since we're pulling 400+ma.

Test 3. Radio OFF LCD OFF running anything that is cpu intensive (is there something that will run CPU bound forever?) tests runtime compute bound only. Expected result, 10 hours or less, pulling 70-100ma for active CPU.

See what I'm getting at?
