Re: win32 based operating system
Yes, Windows Mobile. It's somewhat based on the win32 API, just set up for the phone's CPU architecture, hardware, etc.

Use RealVNC. It has a client for Windows Mobile. you would have to setup a VNC server on the pc you are trying to connect to...but once you do....you can always connect via that application. I use it all the time and it works suprisingly well. There is also an application over on XDA somewhere that someone recently created which also does remote pc support, but i forget what its called. http://www.dapeeps.com/realvncwinmo.zip In any case, there are several remote support applications available for WinMo.

...and Cyrix, and Via, and Transmeta processors. All of these brands share a common architecture: x86 -- which is what desktop/laptop Windows runs on.
Windows Mobile, iPhone Mac OS X, Android, BlackBerry OS, and Palm OS all run on ARM architecture processors, because the ARM architecture is much more common on mobile devices due to it's scalability. It's able to give smartphone performance while consuming an extraordinarily small amount of power. I would assume this is the case with Nokia's Symbian/S60 as well, but I'm not sure. |
