Sprint ROM no TOUCHflo 3d!?

Actually I just opened up my windows folder and it took all of 1 whole second to open up and list all the files, on my mogul well thats a different story. Maybe the OP has a defective unit or something, I just don't see how my pro can get significantly faster than what it already is.

ok not totally true but not false if you think of it your ppc takes a while to open the windows directory because it first has to gather the files and then render them to the correct images now the more you have in the directory the longer it takes to render however as far as slowing down the device itself nak its not that its the consumption of the memory being used and I have had the titan and I must say there is enough memory in the touch pro to support manilla, chocolate, and whatever else

Now it has to overlook a LARGE number of files. Its kind of like a super disorganized registry. The fact of the matter is ask a rom maker such as No2Chem, they try to clean up "Junk" in the windows folder because it slows down the PPC.

The best solution is just let him flash a ROM without TF3D and let him be happy with the ever so slightly faster TP.

It's probably that he is still very much in the Mogul/Vogue state of mind. The "original" stock ROMs in those devices were slow and crippled (originally no GPS). Flashing custom ROMs made it an entirely new device.
The out-of-the-box experience with the TP is much improved. It's still nice to be able to flash custom ROMs / kitchens but you are not going to see the same magnitude of improvements as with the Mogul/Vogue.

Well stop trying to convince him. I hard reseted and opened the windows directory. It takes 4+ seconds which is slower than the 1 second that others are reporting. After installing all my programs, it takes around 30 seconds to open. I know that something is wrong that is why I hard reseted.

I will install the programs 1 by 1 and see which is causing my system to complete bog down. I remember trying to install custom upper icons and this was horrendous as everytime total commander had to access the windows folder I would have to wait. I ended up hard reseting before installing the icons to see what the hell is going on.

I am using juggalo's rom btw.

I've made a few ROMs for my diamond without TF3D, and have been very happy with the speed and stability. You can make a ROM exactly like stock, but without Manila. Just take the ship rom, and decompile it with prepit. Then remove all files with Manila in the file name, and then rebuild the rom, flash, and enjoy.

The best thing about taking manila out of the rom files, is that you free up 5MB of space, and hundreds of files.

Someone made a "nothing ROM". No touchflo, this would be a perfect starting ROM for the OP.

Just goes to show, the PPC GEEKS community has something for everyone

It was a bit faster. However w/o any applications it was the SUCK. Lol mabey if someone made a just w/o the manilla and everything else i might use it. Because I use WAD

I think the majority view is you can turn it off. Theres more than enough storage space that leaving it there is negligible. If its off its not consuming resources anyways just like if you cook it out.
