it didn't cost them anything, the cdma phone was made from the ground up with the us market in mind.. its not just sprint's phone. alltel uses the same phone, and i'm sure other carriers do also.. the only one that doesn't is verizon. the cdma model was never meant to have a camera. it could be slightly plausible to assume that a gsm company like att may have had to pay to have the camera removed, but defintely not the cdma companies. that camera was never even drawn in on a sketch for the cdma model.

Why are people being so picky about a camera in the front? I mean, we have one, why would we need another. Sure, its a decent feature, but I hardly think it was due to Sprint being cheap. Even if it did come equipped with the front camera, people would find some other reason to nit pick at the phone. "Sprint is cheap! They should've been able to add the holographic caller ID!!" Personally, I'm just happy to have the features that I have on my Pro phone and thankful my phone doesn't look like Verizon's rectangular creation and that horribly uncomfortable Diamond backs those GSM's have. I've held one of those before and yea, they may look good on paper, but try going a week with it... you'll really have something to complain about then.

I would have liked to see it kept in. It's not a deal breaker, but would have been nice for video chat, or recording video blogs while being able to see yourself.

its more narrow minded than anything....... why not is my fav question........ 4 years from now when we are able to video-chat we will not be capable. slim selfportrait accuracy is lame. also why remove a feature that would only trump the other phone manufactures once again. imho htc is the highlight of the mobile world.

agreed its not a deal breaker but its a little complaint thats a viable one.

Haha, in KY the state trucks must all have AM radios in them. They pay more to have factory fm radios and cd players removed to have AM only!! Haha what a bunch of crap! I think you made a great point and are more than likely correct.

The American networks don't support video chat which is why it was removed. It would be essentially useless.

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT A VERBAL ATTACK ON ANYONE! Wouldn't the camera in the front take the price up for US the consumers if it was left in? Basically pay more for something we can't use. It really sucks that some know what they are getting and still aren't quit satisfied with what they purchased. Why did some people get touch pro instead of iphone 3g because iphone doesn't have the things they wanted anyone see my point?
