Haptic feedback for TP

Would you like Haptic feedback for your Touch Pro? Envious that your neighbor has it on his Samsung Omnia? Well... In that case, you may just be in luck... Thanks to people at XDA, it seems there is software that can create this sensation for you.. Go here to download it...

There is a thread in the Diamond Upgrades forum but I thought the Touch Pro forum would like to see this also...

I don't know about you, but I love this app! No bugs whatsoever. I'm just waiting for the exclusions feature in their next update.

Can someone chime in? I tried something like this on my mogul and it was "WORTHLESS"!!!!! The vibrate didn't react fast enough for it to be useful. If a number is quickly tapped it wouldn't even be felt. Is this the same?

lol... I am happy you enjoy this *cough* *http://67.228.199.237/forum.ppcgeeks...ost_thanks.gif* program... And yeah Darren... 4 times... I opened 4 threads... Left for a couple hours... Come back, Coz closed them all down... He was talkin about "National Close Thread" Day or something... :)

Re: Haptic feedback for TP

im loving the feedback. its reassuring. thanks bigD

edit: and 25 ms is perfect, just the right amount of feedback. Feels like it was something originally provided with the phone.

Re: Haptic feedback for TP

so any idea on if this will noticeably eat up the battery? i'd like to eventually use it, but not if i have to charge a lot sooner

BigDiesel07 12-01-2008 11:06 PM

Re: Haptic feedback for TP

It will probably increase battery usage, if only slightly... It uses the vibrate on the phone, which takes battery to use... Look at the bright side... It can be turned off if need be :)

TouchResponse works perfect on my vogue. The longer I use it the better I like it. iv got mine set to 68. I like the feedback, no wondering if you pushed hard enough or not.

Been using this for a while, it's great. I use 22 ms. Once he adds white/blacklisting, it'll be perfect.

Re: Haptic feedback for TP

see the thing is though, haptic feedback works when a command is registered. This touch vibrate program vibrates no matter where you click. On the instinct, if I clicked somewhere outside a button on a part of the window that had nothing, it wouldn't vibrate. Know what I mean?

We need something that vibrates when a link is pressed, a menu item is clicked, a button is clicked, or when you're scrolling (maybe I'm missing one.) Not when I touch outside an item in the settings window....

In reference to the Dr... I believe so then yes chron...

Re: Haptic feedback for TP

Im really suprised this was not included with the device.

I gave it a shot. With the TP, it sort of feels unnatural. The vibration is felt on my index fingers at the back of the phone, as opposed to my thumb when im pressing it. Had the motor been located on the screen portion, it would be perfect for haptic feedback. As it is, it feels distant.

BigDiesel07 12-02-2008 12:09 AM

Re: Haptic feedback for TP

lol... Distant? Sounds like what my ex-gf said... j/k... I didn't know the vibrate was located on the back of the device... Good heads up on that tidbit Ferrei!

Not exactly, it would be program-by-program filtering. I don't think there is a real elegant way to do what you speak of; that would be something that needed to be coded into the software, I think. That's perhaps one of the benefits of closed systems with uniform software.

But the program works pretty darn well regardless, it took me a couple days to get used to, now I really appreciate it. It especially helps when clicking the upper right corner (X or task manager).

I don't think you're going to get that kind of shallow-to-screen vibration on a device with a keyboard. Try lowering the duration, that kind of delocalizes the buzz.

working for me so far.

If you have a nice short setting, the vibration feels MUCH less intense. Actually it's just like Teeter.

Re: Haptic feedback for TP

go to start/settings/system

and then you'll see the program in there.
