QVGA Emulator for Touch Pro

I just upgraded to the touch pro and one of the programs I use does not scale correctly to the higher resolution. It runs, but the text is garbled and the pictures are really small. Does anyone know if there is an emulator that I could run this program inside of? What I am thinking is something like the java midlet but for changing the resolution back to qvga.

Thanks!

Re: QVGA Emulator for Touch Pro

That is fantastic! Thank you so much for that information. I have not yet explored making the resolution smaller (dpi bigger I guess), but am on that now. I did however lower the dpi and the program displayed correctly and was not totally garbled. I will let you know if I can get it to go the other way as well. Now, to figure out if TouchFlo will work at a different resolution....hmmm.

@BigDiesel07:

I appreciate all your contributions. Here is a respectful correction to your nomenclature. RealVGA actually does not change the screen resolution (commonly called physical DPI), but rather, it changes the logical DPI. The screen displayed is still 480 x 640 pixels. The logical DPI is the OS' interpretation of what the physical pixel size is. Save for the math, setting to 96 DPI tells the OS that 96 pixels = 1 inch.

Clearly, reducing the DPI value will allow for more information to be displayed and all applications that depend on the OS for display will also render smaller. At default, WM running on Diamond and TP "thinks" that it takes 192 pixels to make 1 inch, and therefore the objects (fonts, icons, etc.) displayed are larger.

Re: QVGA Emulator for Touch Pro

I wanted to resurrect this thread given that the touch pro is much older now and more vga devices are coming to market. I have searched but can't find any information on whether a program to emulate pixel doubling exists? I have seen real vga, and it works but in the opposite direction. Unfortunately, my progarm was coded poorly and manually draws the screen. Therefore the defaut windows doubling does not work. Any recent advancements? Thanks for any help.

Re: QVGA Emulator for Touch Pro

I find VGA with more support than QVGA, so I steer clear of QVGA, especially because I feel its dying away (along with VGA) for the newer WVGA and such. Everybody wants wide screen :P

Re: QVGA Emulator for Touch Pro

App didn't work too well on my Touch PRO. Many error messages upon startup. I'm with laos101...I'll steer clear of QVGA. I don't wanna do anything that's gonna screw up my brand new device!
