Just tried it out. I used a slightly different technique. In a small pot i put about 1 1/4 cup of hot water from the tap. eyeballed about 2 ounces into the water pot. i put the pot over medium heat and dropped my cover in it. i set a timer for 15 minutes. stir constantly or else it may burn. it took about 2 minutes for the cover to really change into black after 5 i lowered it to the lowest setting and stired for 5 minutes. then i just took it off heat and set aside until it got cool. it works! how long will it last? and i wouldnt put the phone in any spot where you might get stain for example your shirt pocket.

Damn it. Which Walmart did you go to? The one by my work is $1.72. haha. By the way it's in the detergent isle for those who are interested. I'm thinking about doing this at work. Nothing much to do here. I could make a pot from the coffee machine here. Would that be hot enough? Did you have to add salt?

You're WalMart must not have seen the rollback commercial yet.

well it didnt change the color of the HTC logo type on the cover because it is covered by the same clear plastic as the lens cover. the plastic lens cover is not porus enough to absorb the dye so should be ok for the camera and logo. looks good. im gonna do that this week when im off work. thanks for the tip.
