Re: typing speeds vs screen delay

I am not noticing a difference on my diamond... 375 was also default on my telus diamond. I'll keep it this way and maybe i'll notice a difference when i'm not so tired

Re: typing speeds vs screen delay

I believe that HKCU setting is delay to repeat, not delay to translate on screen. It should only impact how long of a delay there is before the character whose button you are still depressing starts repeating.

Correct me if I am wrong, as I did not research in advance, but I have never known microsoft to intentionally introduce a typing lag.

I have the same problem, but if I tap the screen where I want the text to go, it clears the delay. I think something is grabbing input and holding it - kinda like the bug that takes us to the dialer. I think we just didn't hit the right button press order to get to the dialer.

I am reminded of a recent android bug where all keyboard input was echoed to console. They proved this by typing <Enter>reboot<Enter> and the phone rebooted everytime. I have to wonder if this is something similar...

Re: typing speeds vs screen delay

I don't think it's limited to texting. I've noticed that if I slide open they keyboard then try to start typing immediately it will lag. If I slide open the keyboard then wait a second or 2 before I start typing, there's significantly less lag.

Something in the background is happening to slow things down, even after the screen is done rotating. Maybe it rotates all the background apps too?

I dunno how normal this is since it's my first slideout WM phone... I never owned a Mogul. However I never noticed keyboard lag in the ones I've played with either.
