How do you stop the onscreen keyboard...

How do you make the onscreen keyboard not pop up when the phone's hardware keyboard is open? It seems awfully redundant, and annoying to have the onscreen keyboard open up on its own when i click inside a text box with the hardware keyboard open.

Re: How do you stop the onscreen keyboard...

I think there is a setting that makes the default kb the hardware one, check around your input or keyboard settings.

I did that, but in opera, say at google.com, when i touch in the search box with the hardware keyboard open, the on screen keyboard still opens on screen.

This happens to me too, and when I tried to switch to CompactQWERTY like the above poster says, it always switches back to Full. (???)

Yeah, that's what appears to be happening to me too... I remember a hack on the mogul where you put a skin of a clear keyboard or something along those lines, so when the keyboard popped up it was invisible.

Yeah "nullkb" is what you're talking about Sponge.

The problem lies in Opera, I guess they did all testing with a Diamond or something and just left it as-is. Pain in the arse

Makes sense, test about 70% of your product and not the whole thing.... I should be in charge of Beta testing for HTC, all this crap wouldn't fly with me!
