There is a special VGA version of the Esmertec jbed JAVA VM that fixes that. Enjoy.

Yea, I used opera mini on the mogul without a problem, and I absolutely LOVED it. I didn't realize how fast it was until I got stuck with opera mobile on the TP. Sure, I like the animations and the increased features (handles some javascript etc) with opera mobile , but it is so agonizingly slow and unresponsive that it seriously impairs my browsing experience. Just waiting for a working and non-buggy version of opera mini for the TP..

Try downloading the java jbed posted a few links back and then install 4.2. It works perfectly. Sure occasionally it locks up but overall it is working just fine. text inputting is not working too well but I am sure it will be fixed soon enough. Better than skyfire, faster than opera mobile. great especially if in 1x area since it condenses the pages server side so slower data speed is not that big of a hinderance.

People have been going ape sh*t for this over at the samsung instinct forums. The stock instinct browser is suicide inducing.

Yeah, Opera Mini is all done server side, with 4.2 they now have US based severs (Before it was all in Norway) so us folks here in the US it should be must faster. Which Java client are you running for Opera Mini?

Esmertec regular. Not the vga fix. The vga fixed esmertec dont look as nice. For some reason it a bit blurry when its zoomed out.

I am waiting for that aswell.

I know of this issue. When I zoom in sometimes I wish I can zoom further in.. but theres no choice of of now. But the zoom is almost sufficient because of our hi res VGA Pro screen.

Just run the selector fix and you won't be asked the connection question. Easy.

4.2 is lightning fast!

Where is this selector fix? Link? And its not ligghtning fast... its Time warp fast. Amazing how the US servers have increased the speed.

Yeah, I love Opera Mini. I wish we had a better jbed though. With my Mogul I could drag/scroll the page around it was smooth. With this if I drag a page it goes in big steps. Is everyone else having this problem?
