The one in phone -> location settings is on. That is what I was referring to. In the communications settings all I have on is "Phone".

Is that correct or should I disable the location settings option?

Re: A little tough Love about battery issues.

I can't actually complain because of my past experience with the titan. At first I complained about the titan because I didn't know any better. But eventually I learned that wifi drinks batteries faster than cults down koolaid. And that having the inet run 24/7 also drains batteries pretty quickly.

So I ended up getting the seidio extended battery and no more problems! I went from charging at LEAST 2 to 3 times a day to once every 3-5 days! Yah that's amazing. And have you seen me mention I run flexmail with like 9-11 imap accounts? yah its great#!#@!#!

So, now with the TP i'm back to my 2-3 days for the last 4-5 days i've owned it lol. I hit seidio up but they don't have anything for it, yet! SO I will patiently wait for it.

While I would like to see an adequate battery for it, I just think of the cost that would incur and weigh it against after market products. Sure everything has a pro vs con but I'd rather buy a *****en battery later than a huge initial expense with something that won't be as worthy (long lasting).

just my opinion :P

Ah.. ok. That has been said to make some difference, but the general problem you are having, must be another issue. Have you tried the hard-reset option? Where you just hard-reset, and start over again? There have been hit-or-miss benefits to that, as well, so I think we are all just as clueless as anyone else. Maybe the next update that comes out will fix it, or just try to see if any of the custom ROM's fix it for you.
In all honesty, in a few months when I get it, I don't think I will even touch the ROM, or make my own. At least not until the kitchen is updated and the battery issues were fixed. I'd rather just buy an extended battery, then flash constantly. I hear that it adds bulk, but at least for those who need that extra battery-life, (I'll most likely need that extra battery, for the weekends.) it is a work-around.

Haven't tried the hard reset, I hate to lose all the stuff I've put into the phone. I haven't tried any of the backup stuff yet either. I hate polluting my phones with too many programs etc...

My phone also turns the display on here and there without any reason. Might be part of the problem. Any idea how to fix that?

My phone turns on every few minutes---highly annoying. I check each time, to see if GPSToday or ActiveSync are responsible. Almost never is the case.

I had to install S2U2 again, because it keeps doing it, and I find numbers entered when I pull it out of my pocket...

Guys, S2U has a great feature, that will automatically turn off your device, if you haven't unlocked within a certain time... Have you tried that, and seen if it helped? Also, try to see what your running processes are, and check for programs that are on a schedule, like weather or RSS programs to update, etc..

I'm not familiar with S2U... My phone is locked by default so the display comes on and sits there for the time alloted until it goes back to standby. What does S2U do exactly and where can I read about it?

Yup, but my phone still turns on every 2-3 minutes. Kind of annoying. Hopefully I can narrow it down to a certain program/setting.

It's basically an iPhone unlocker rip-off. Very customizable, and works fairly well, as long as you unlock it before you open your keyboard...

One of the features I built in to the Battery Log Program was logging the active application. It should catch whatever application is waking up the TP if it is an application that is waking it up.
