Wow, that is unacceptable. Get it replaced.

So many people use their cell phones as their alarms, that something as basic as this should work properly.

I agree 100%. I have used all my previous phones as alarms like I am doign now with the HTC. I also charged all my phones overnight but for some reason this one doesnt like that becasue that is the only time it seems to lock up.
When the phone doesnt freeze the alarm works like it should. I just think we need to find what is causing the phone to lock up.

Mine did freeze one time on an overnight charge (I also use it for an alarm every morning) & when I reset it the battery was only about 1/3 charged.

It's been fine ever since???

The reason for this is that the Touch Pro has some serious charging/heat issues. It freezes up and/or stops charging, and gets into an endless-cycle of not charging and getting hotter until the battery dies. We have a few threads on this, but they keep getting shut down or merged into one, so anytime some new info comes out, it gets deleted, or lost in the PPCGeeks interwebs jungle.

Hope I'm not jinxing myself by posting in this thread again...

But I decided to do a hard reset because of some other stuff that was going on with manilla.

I haven't had a lockup since.

I have the phone set up the same way as I had it.

I haven't unchecked the today timeout or when connected to external... setting and haven't had any lockups..

And I didn't do a hard reset when I got my phone either...This was the first one. Anyone who is experiencing these lockups, have you ever done a hard reset?

i have had lockups the last couple days with my touch pro. I am trying to charge it and I try to use my phone and notice it is frozen. I cant do anything, power button doesnt even work. I end up using the reset at the bottom with the stylus. this is frustrating has locked up 4 times in 2 days. i almost want a refund.

I felt the same way. Then I got a refund ;)

Mine (all 6) kept freezing/overheating/draining while on charger/etc... plus a whole slew of other things.

If you are stuck with the device, then history has shown that typically custom ROMs will fix issues like this. I still find it strange that most people don't have this issue--leading me to believe it's a hardware problem.

If you recall, the original Vogue had a similar issue with freezing overnight. This was fixed with the very first 6.1 update, (unofficial even.)

So don't give up hope, but I am convinced it's charger/heat/battery related.

if mine keeps locking up i will try to get a refund, whats the point of having a phone if it cant answer calls or notify you when you get a message.

have you tried doing a hard reset? I know it's a pain in the butt but it may solve the problem like it has for me.

I completely understand where you are coming from though. It's frustrating that the phone doesn't work how its suppose to when it comes to the simplest stuff. Why should we need to tweak and modify a phone right out of theto keep it from locking up!

Hopefully this was just a temporary problem for me. ](*,)

Mine locked up twice so far since I got it in November.

First did I did was hard reset when I got the phone, did some reg tweaks, and installed programs I like. Still stock rom though.

Worst part is it's so random, and never know when it'll hit.
