If you use an Exchange Server with Outlook 2003/2007 for your email, ActiveSync can sync over the air with your data plan without needing to plug in.

As for not recommending DirectPush, my reasons are two-fold... preserving battery life primarily, but also because I don't believe anyone is so important (save maybe for national security) that they can't wait a few minutes to get their messages (or hit Send/Receive themselves). If something is urgent, email probably isn't the best method to communicate it anyway, lol.

Thanks! I agree with both the (lack of) urgency and battery saving issues. I don't know if its appropriate to continue this discussion on this thread, but how do you set it up that way? I set activesynch up through the e-mail set up. We use Outlook and MS exchange server 2003-2007 I have activesync set to manual, but it seems to always show up on the task manager as on a few minutes after I close it. Thanks

David

ActiveSync runs pretty much all the time, and despite some people's irritation with it, that's NOT a problem. I just add it to the Task Manager Exclusive list so it doesn't show up all the time.

Setting it up to use the Exchange Server sync is more of a discussion with your Exchange Server admins, because they have to enable it on the server side and provide you with the server settings and possibly a certificate.

Got it, thanks! BTW, I ran the cleanup. worked great. I like it. Now I have to figure out, like everyone else, how to improve the battery performance even more. actually a lot more.

Cool idea, but my phone slowed down quite a bit after installing this

What else have you installed? What other tweaks did you do before or afterwards? Are you using a custom ROM? Is there anything specific that seems "slow" or that I should look into?

NOTE #3: I will fix any issues with these packages, but I won't necessarily be adding any new features or skins. This is intended to provide as many of the "essentials" as possible without a lot of hassle. I also have limited time to work on these things, and well to be honest... if you want to go beyond the essentials, you should really be looking at Custom ROM development.

Anything you have in mind that needs included or fixed? :)

To the both of you, if you're able to be specific about any issues, I'll definitely get those taken care of.

I really praise you, GT2L for your work on these cabs. Major improvement to the device. MAJOR. I was nervous about installing but am now very glad that I did.

I'll do the color tweaks next.

I think I used it with a fresh install of the stock Sprint ROM. I don't think I used any registry tweaks yet. I'll try it again just to make sure.

Keep me posted... if there's something not acting right, I definitely want to know about it so I can fix it. :)
