The battery only shows on the top bar when on the TouchFLO interface. Without a 3rd party program, I have never seen a way to make it always appear, which I agree is very annoying.

Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)

Does anyone know how to make the HTC Touch Pro STOP giving me a "notification" in the lower left of the today page for missed calls / voice mail / etc. I hate having to dismiss it each time a call comes in. I end up having to dismiss the "missed call" and then dismiss the "voice mail", etc. etc..

Any thoughts?

Eric

Start->Settings->Sounds & Notifications
Select Notifications Tab on bottom
Select Phone: Missed Call
Unselect "Display message on screen"

Repeat for Phone: Voice mail

Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)

GoodThings, I am about to install the clean up. I went through 12 pages of posts and got most of my questions answered. I still have two:

1. Where does sprint TV end up (under programs?)
2. Your original post states that the cab makes the following change: USB to PC-- ActiveSync without Advanced Networking; Don't Prompt-will that effect the Microsoft exchange and Direct Push synching of my OUtlook e-mail, calender, etc?

Actually, I have a third question (Sorry). I read somewhere that Activesync uses a lot of battery power trying to synch when it doesn't have to. Is there any way to control that? Is it even worth worrying about?

I am obviously very new to this and barely know what I am writing about. Thanks so much for this clean-up and customization help.
David

1. The SprintTV shortcuts are removed, but since the program is still there you have two options-- if that's literally the only thing you want, just copy the existing shortcut somewhere else and put it back where you want after installing... \Windows\Start Menu\Programs is where the current is located. Or, you can use the Restore Sprint Shortcuts package and manually delete the \Windows\Start Menu\Sprint Mobile shortcuts you don't want.

2. Actually, it no longer sets that option. It keeps it in ActiveSync mode since I decided I hated that feature. That said, ActiveSync when used with Exchange and Direct Push is NEVER affected by that setting. Only if you have to use the XP/Vista ActiveSync/Mobile Device Center method.

3. I *never* recommend allowing email accounts to synchronize using Direct Push and always set them to 30 minutes.

I think people like you are incredible helping strangers out like this. You beg the question, what would you recommend for receiving e-mail from an MS exchange server? Since it is tied to my work account, I do like controlling when I get e-mail and the pace. How do you do that-set it for every 30 minutes or such.

Also can you tell me if the restore_sprint_shortcuts file on your second poss is the one that will let me choose which links I want to retain? It would be nice to to choose. Then I wouldn't have to think about it in advance. Don't know what I don't know.

Thanks

David

30 mins for all email accounts. Most of them you set while you setup the account, but Exchange accounts you need to do on the PC as Tools > Schedule or on the phone in ActiveSync > Menu > Schedule.

There's no choice when you use the restore_sprint_shortcuts... it restores all Sprint program shortcuts to the Start > Sprint Mobile folder.

Re: Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition)

Thanks. That clear. I can always add it to programs, which is what I prefer rather than a shortcut. Could you explain why you wrote:

3. I *never* recommend allowing email accounts to synchronize using Direct Push [/quote]

What's the alternative besides directly connecting to your computer if I am using an exchange server? Happy Holidays!

David
