Does anyone else have a crack in the chrome? - Page 20

Well after chatting with Sprint and re explaining myself to my local Sprint store, they agreed to exchange mine. The rep was going to order me a replacement for warranty but when he asked his manager, then the manager recalled the memo and did a straight swap for me.

The new one seems to have a darker chrome that matches the keypad chrome trim. But not matte. Manufacture date of Jan. 12, 2009. I can't tell however if I have the yellow screen but angle view is as good as straight view. Still have the raised home key but that doesn't bother me. What might bother me is the vibrate is not as strong on this one. Need to do a in your jean pocket test later.

I exchanged my TP (Purchased on 10/23 at best Buy) at my local Sprint Store because my chrome was cracked, and all they gave me was a new phone and nothing else. They wouldn't even give me a new battery! Good news is my phone looks better, no cracks/chips, and the screen backlight is still white.

So far I'm impressed with the battery on this new unit. It's been unplugged since 8:45am and its now 2:15. I've used some data to check mail and rebooted the phone once. It's at 89% now. normally I would be at 80%. What makes the biggest difference is in the morning. After about 2 hours off the charger it would be at 95%. My older phone would be at 90% and If I reboot the percent jumps lower to about 80 something. This one will stay at the percentage it was on before and after reboot.

Those that are getting replacements: Does the newer Touch Pro have a darker chrome?

I bought a Sprint Touch Pro from an authorized sprint retailer on ebay, and have an official sprint packing slip etc. I put the VZW leaked ROM on the TP and have been using it on VZW for a little under 2 months now. The phone has NEVER been droped (I dont use a case) but just this week I noticed a bad crack in the chrom on the top half of the phone. The crack go's all the way through the chrome (I'll add pcitures tomorrow) I don't know what to do, verizon wont replace it obviously, and I dont have a sprint account to activate the phone on. Any ideas?

Put a Seidio case over it & don't worry about it.

+1 on the case. a crack in the chrome wouldn't bother me as long as it works.

Tried swapping my phone today about the crack in the chrome and my battery draining to fast. First the lady drops my phone and then she says we don't fix cosmetic issues. I was like whatever and stayed calm after she dropped it. I figured I'm going to get a new one Right!!!
No luck got my old phone back with a new battery supposedly. I told her to check known issues but the system says that the cracks happen when the phone is dropped. Do you guys think I should try another sprint store? Or am I already in the system and screwed? Id be fine with scratches if I knew I caused them from dropping it or something. But I treat my phone real good.

Yeah, or just file a claim.............I bought mine in November, three weeks later it got a chip in the chrome on the top w/out being dropped. Sprint stores around town don't have any in stock for replacement......so I bit the bullet and filed a claim w/Asurion today........new one on the way.
