Re: Old-School Word Correction... Fixes

I don't have any ideas... I blame it on the fact that T9 is so heavily integrated and sucks so bad, but there's nothing that can be done that I've found, and since it doesn't cause me any major grief-- just an occasional regtweak and soft reset (which I ought to be doing once a day anyway just to keep the gremlins away), I can't see spending any more time on it.

Re: Old-School Word Correction... Fixes

It is no biggie. I use the real keyboard as much as possible so it doesn't happen more than 1-2 times a week if that. I was just wondering.

Re: Old-School Word Correction... Fixes

I'm running Vodafone Touch Pro with standard ROM 1.90.161.

Previously, the on-screen keyboard only typed out numbers when searching Contacts, but the auto-match still found entries related to the alpha keys that were pressed.
Applied the .cab.
Now, it types numbers, and also just looks for number related entries in the list.
This really is becoming an annoying lil problem.

Thumbs up Re: Old-School Word Correction... Fixes

Hello. I had the same problems with the ABC with my HTC Touch HD.
First i read all the postings here, looking for a quick working answer, but noticed that the results were not all that good. So i tried to remember what i've done, what could have been causing these conflicts.

After all i found the absolutely working solution for me and hopefully for you also. I opened HD Tweaks and scrolled down to the Keyboard (GIP) section. I remembered that i had changed some settings there, so i gave it a try:
  1. 20.1 Automatic display (popup) > ENABLED
  2. 20.2 T9 Mode > DISABLED
  3. 20.3 Suggest Words > 0
I know this sounds silly, but for me it works although. I hope some people here i have helped with this issue.

When you do this it shouldn't suggest any words, that defeats the purpose of this thread.

Re: Old-School Word Correction... Fixes

First of all sorry for bring up an older post, but I just wanted to make sure that this will work just fine on a Verizon TP as well. It seems like most everyone has Sprint, and there isn't as many of us Verizon users on here. My first guess is that all would be alright, but I guess it is better safe than sorry.
