No, there is a protective backing you must peel the actual screen protector from.

I don't understand. The one in the case with the manuals didn't have a backing on it? Then it probably has a bunch of junk on it and you should check out ebay or an invisible shield.

wet it.. use credit card to push out the air... you will see some spotting, this should dissappear after about 6 hours of dryiing.

When you put it on dont just drop it straight on the phone as it will trap air bubbles. Start from the top and kind of bend it, as you were rolling it on. I put it on and had 0 bubbles this way.

It is a pretty good free protector. I couldn't figure out the backing immediately either.

Your comment is pointless and off topic. Congratulations on never having a problem. The funny thing is you probably did have a problem with something and one of these guys probably helped you out. Since I can see that you have never thanked anyone that means you did nothing to even try and thank them for their help. If all you are going to do is lurk please keep your comments to yourself they are not appreciated.

I have yet to even try to install it, so far so good with nothing on there (risky)
