So that this discussion doesnt get off track any further, the solution is this. In order to have your own ring tones rather than the default for email and text messages, first the rigns have to be in wav. format. Also if you save the tones in the root of the card they can be used. I guess this is the best solution for now. It works so far.

Did you read what I had posted above regarding mp3's being able to work?

I personally would like to change the text and placement of the alert... More like
"# New Text Message(s)" and have it pop up in the middle of the screen

I did. I thought I tried this and it did not recognize the files. I'll check it again

Read through the Touch/Mogul forum if you don't believe me. Card corruption is a VERY common problem...

nearly three years asctually and i have always kept my ringtones on my SD
Moto Q, Moto Q9c, and now touch pro..... As well i have been a sprint sales rep for the better part of the last 5 years .... I have yet to see this happen once... Although I will admit i very very rarely install apss to the SD...
who knows maybe its possible but I have never seen it

Hi guys,

I've noticed that whenever I miss a text message, it doesn't light up the ring dpad just like when you miss a phone call or voicemail.

Is there a way I could have the ring dpad light flash when a text is missed just like a miss call..?

I always have to wake my TP to see if someone left me a text message or not. Is anyone else experiencing this same problem and/or is this a TP notification defect..?

I verified that it works for sure. I have 3 mp3's renamed so that I can find the file easy. For "Alert" mp3's, I renamed just like the system has the alerts indicated (e.g.Alerts-Whatever). I've also got my ringtones re-named, so they're easy to identify (e.g. Rings-Whatever).

Hope that helps.

-EDIT- Forgot to mention that I put these all in the Windows folder (on the phone), just to be safe. Last thing I need is to have to go into Sprint to replace the phone because of my messing up...hahaha.

To assign individual SMS ringtones you can use ...http://microsoft.handango.com/Platfo...uthorId=739922

Re: Personalized Notifications for SMS,MMS,E-mail

My mp3 ringtones were working just fine when i placed them in the My Documents/My Ringtones folder. But then I installed Kinoma Freeplay and now my mp3 ringtones dont work. They open up on Kinoma instead of ringing...only the wma and wav files work normally.

Does anyone understand why? Is there a way to keep Kinoma Freeplay from accessing the My Ringtones folder??

Please help. Thanks.

Try moving those mp3 files to:
My Device/Application Data/ Sounds

You should be able to select those files as ringers afterwards in the Notifications menu.

you can just copy in paste the ringers to the sound folder.
