Maybe the store rep thought you were talking about the IM forwarding feature that some services have, which sends a text to your phone when someone messages you online (that way you don't have to keep an im app open all the time). If not, then he's just a douche.

Well he's partially right, but only partially. If you use the builtin Sprint I.M app (which is basically the OZ IM app) then that uses SMS as well as data (which is why you get a warning to have an unlimited SMS pack). Other I.M apps like IM+ only use data.

I never liked the builtin IM app anyway, it's slow and boring.

The included application on the phone uses sms. Store rep was right on.

Wow its a good thing I read this thread i didn't know the oz uses sms also. Not a problem because I have sero but good to know. Is the oz messenger any slower then the data apps when it comes to receiving messages?
