It is looking like it is hardware controlled, which means no fix.

I hope this isn't true. I don't know why they made it like this. It makes sense to me to have the light synchronized with the screen backlight.

I was having the same issue with the calender, but I think I figured it out. If you open it thru the big button on the Today screen, it opens up to your agenda, most likely because they think you would want to see your upcoming appointments from the Today screen. However, if you open up the calender thru the start menu or programs after setting it to open up to the month view, it should open right to month. Hope this helps, it was frustrating me until just last nite.

Just clicked "Thanks" for you! I can deal with 2 clicks to see the month view. Thanks! I don't suppose you know how to remove the calendar link from the home screen?

All I know is that I went in a did the registry change noted above that *should* have worked and it didnt. It points to hardware control which HTC has been done before. I wouldent give up hop, but dont hold your breath either.

If you're talking about the power settings, it's not there. Where do you see a setting for keyboard backlight? Messing with the power options for the screen doesn't affect the keyboard.

He is talking about Advanced Configuration Editor

In there under input, keyboard backlight timeout. However this doesnt work. All this does anyway is change the qkeyledtimeout which we already know doesnt work.
