Defective Touch Pro

Ok guys check this out. Just got my TP from BestBuy. The earpiece volume is so low that you can't hardly hear it. Tried a hard reset but the phone wont let me do it. I can reset via "clear storage" and another "soft" method with no help. I cannot get the phone to hard reset with any combination of power, volume down, enter, and reset buttons. Driving me nuts. Worst part is that BestBuy is out of stock and we're stuck with an inop phone.

hmmm did you take the plastic protective cover off? don't laugh, a lot of people didn't and posted that their phone was borked.

Yea. It has a cuttout for the speaker anyway.

I found the earpiece volume low when I got the phone, but I installed AudioPara (look in the tweeks sticky) and now it's perfect.
Don't be so quick to write off a phone just because of a (fixable) minor issue.
There's a lot of information here. Read a lot, learn a lot.

When you say low, was it like wisper quiet at full volume? And yes I know about AudioPara. Bottom line is: 1) volume is WAY low and 2) Phone is unable to be hard reset. With those two concerns together tells me either 1) the firmware on the phone is messed up or 2) there is a hardware issue.

BTW I even tried No2Chem's rom and it didn't help. Still couldn't hard reset.

when you hard reset your phone has to be off.

Yes, the power has to be off.

Press Volume Down and the power button to turn the phone off, THEN attempt the hard reset.

the one from the factory shouldn't have a cutout. maybe you got one that has been slightly used

stupid question here, but did you just up your ringtone volume and not your system volume? and then once in a call it uses even a third volume control so you need to volume up once the call is initiated.

Yea, upped it in a call, but thanks for asking.
