Re: Touch Pro Video Cable - Build Your Own
Awesome thread! Thanks for posting all of this info. I made my own cable tonight (with the help of the splitter cable from my retired Touch) in about a half hour. It works awesome! can't wait to hook it up to the Avic in the car and start using the slingbox in traffic jams...

Re: Touch Pro Video Cable - Build Your Own
Awesome thread... but definitely NOT for the faint at heart.
Removing pin 4 is not easy... Once that is accomplished, everything else is a breeze. Only issue is that hopefully someone will come up with a TWEAK that allows Sprint TV to be used with the video-out cable. |
Re: Touch Pro Video Cable - Build Your Own
I did the method #1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...5&postcount=19 where you dremel the connection.
My TP recognizes it but the video that comes out is all messed up like an old school PPV channel. |
Re: Touch Pro Video Cable - Build Your Own
I thought i would solder this, but looked at how small the wires were and noticed it was working very well just twisted for the test. Needless to say electrical tape works fine if you're lazy. Thanks for the write up Pzzt!

Re: Touch Pro Video Cable - Build Your Own
really - use the audio adapter that came with the pro.. crack it open and either cut or desolder the blue wire.. and then just use a little super glue on the adapter to close it back up.
WAY easier and cleaner and really fast... then just plug a set of av cables with a 3.5mm jack in and presto.. its all good. no where locally had the cables that I could find/use cheap - so Im having a set sent in from Hong Kong.. $5 shipped. |
Re: Touch Pro Video Cable - Build Your Own
^^^ +1 for this, i just popped mine open and snipped the blue wire and badda boom badda bing it works with my gf's ipod a/v cord.

Re: Touch Pro Video Cable - Build Your Own
I did it. Took me about a hour. I followed the instructions step by step and it turned out very good. The 4th pic in which everyone is having a hard time is not that bad. I have a exacto knife with a very pointy tip. I used it to lift the 4th pin up and yes after a bout 3 to 4 minutes of moving it left and right.. it breaks off clean. I can imagine you can use a push pin like the op did or anything that is just point and very small. Another idea is the brand new dress shirt pins that you get. Just puck and wiggle left and right. After I got all the wires connected I did solder them for a very secure connection. i will post a pic so you all see.....
BTW......... I did not do the final step since I did not get any noise or hiss like the OP said he got. The last step was to ground to the shielding. Mines was fine without it......... oh yeah.. I took the pic wth my super Sprint Pro. http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/p...8/IMAG0035.jpg |
