Are you still getting the device after all the bad stuff we have read?

man i really wanted this device, but after reading a weeks worth of bad reviews, poor battery life, low ear piece voulme.... i am woundering.

i have the option to get it for cheap, but i dont want to was my time if it's just going to get returned.

how many of you are still getting it even after all your've read?

how many of you have changed your mine about getting it so fast and waiting a few more weeks to see what happens?

how many of you are just not takeing the chance?

post replies and take the poll

thanks, Cody

Re: Are you still getting the device after all the bad stuff we have read?

Just put in my order this morning through telesales. Definitely want it, even more so after reading what people have said because for the most part - most people love it. Only a few aren't happy, and from those, only a few actually don't like it, the others like it but want some bugs fixed.

Its not going to be perfect, but it sounds like it can get near perfect with the proper programs and ROM updates.

As for the bad hearing, etc. If the fixes online don't work, they need to return it as not all people have bad speakers. I will be doing that until I get one that is hardware-wise, perfect.

Come on Cody! Go for it! Nobody comes on a forum to say "hey my phone is working perfectly!" or "My phone hasen't had a single problem yet" but I know they are out there....because I'm one of them. I'm sure that there are way more people that are not having problems than those that are. I say go for it and judge for yourself! If you don't like it return it before 30 days are up! Good Luck!

Go ahead and get it. I've had mine since last friday and have not had any problems except i can't get word completion to work. the battery doesn't last as long as my mogul but it will last all day with normal use. the only time mine got real hot was the first couple of days i had it. that was because i was messing with it all day non-stop. this is by far better than anything other pda phone i've had before.

Very true, exactly... For every person that posts regarding a problem, there are several pleased people who just don't post to say so. This is true for almost anything.

Re: Are you still getting the device after all the bad stuff we have read?

yea I'm still getting it. Almost every electronic device has problems when they first come out, they usually end up fixing them. I'm worried about the battery life, but with my Touch I'm getting about 7 hours of life out of it before it is dead. So I don't think it'll be that big of a change for me. As long as it lasts 7 hours I'll be fine. And I realize that now someone is going to come out and say it won't but I'll be the judge of that lol.

I think you need an addition to the Poll. All this bad stuff is overrated and the TP rocks. Of course I will/have gotten it.

Remember, the complainers are always the most vocal. Best phone I've ever owned, despite the battery life problems, which are my only real complaint.

umm, it's awesome, the problems are all extremely minor in comparison to the mogul's problems.... of course the battery life isn't perfect, but I can say it is almost certainly better than my mogul's. the rest the mogul had anyways, and fixes are available.

where's the option for "I have it and wouldn't even DREAM of returning it"?

concidering what we gain over the mogul, and some of the very slight downfalls it may have can be easily overlooked. im not even looking back at the mogul and have put it on the auction block to be sold. it was a good companion, but its time for something that moves as fast as i do.

btw, i already purchased the pro for $254 at best buy on the 27th. awesome purchase!

In the past, on the Mogul forum, I found that I could identify with TurboFool on pretty much all of the Mogul's craptastic limitations and "features", especially the awful, awful RAM. Seeing that he's been rather satisfied with the TP, well, I see myself going down that same road!

lol, same here. i'll just wait til my mogul actually breaks and let the nice folks at sprint twist my arm to take the upgrade. just like they did when my 6700 broke. ;)

Re: Are you still getting the device after all the bad stuff we have read?

my TP is great besides for battery life, 5 row keyboard (i liked the 4 row of Mogul) and some of the bloatware of sprint stock rom. big improvement over Mogul and nice upgrade over the Diamond.

i really liked the Diamond, but i couldn't see myself using it for emails/text for more then a year. i kept on hitting the wrong buttons and i refuse to have to use my stylus to type.

Re: Are you still getting the device after all the bad stuff we have read?

dude, i have mine, listen hear this is very good info. This phone rocks.st, the screen is amazing the touch responsiveness is so good. I will admit that the battery life is not good.... FOR NOW. People who say that have no clue. It takes 2-4 weeks (IMO) to condition a battery. So in that case it is obvious IT WILL NOT HAVE GOOD BATTERY LIFE RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX! get it!

Re: Are you still getting the device after all the bad stuff we have read?

Since when has a PPC been released that everyone thought was perfect the first week it came out? lol

It's the same crap every time a new one is released. Everyone complains and says "omg people have so many problems! I shouldn't get one."

Of course...everyone gets them at the same exact time and is using them for the first time, so people will have their complaints. What you're hearing are the same complaints about (mostly) small unresolved issues, so it seems worse than it really is. I only have VERY minor complaints about my Touch Pro, and they don't even matter, because PPC's aren't perfect. I'm sure I'm not alone on this.

I agree 100%. I've got it and love it. The hardware is great - software needs a bit of work, but thats the easy part. It really is a great device!

This is true, the only problem that I have had so far was related to a change I made to the registry. After a hard reset, and avoiding that Reg Edit I couldnt be happier. I love the business card scanner, and cant wait to pick up a TV out cable.

Re: Are you still getting the device after all the bad stuff we have read?

I'm still undecided if i'll take the leap now that I have the diamond... the main part thats pulling me in is the fact that I always need to have the latest and greatest tech if at all possible, and luckily i'm able to afford it at this time....but i've come to love the light weight and thin-ness of the diamond. i'm only 15 days in with the diamond so i have another 15 to decide... it might come down to the wire.

I'm so getting a Touch Pro, I'm sick of my stupid mogul giving me 1-7 black screens of death and crashing in the middle of calls/texts, only allowing me up to 13.33 mb RAM, etc., what were they thinking when they made this?!

Anyway, I'm soooo pumped to get a phone with a truly awesome interface and higher processing power and ram than the almighty iphone! (the iphone has been revealed to have 128mb ram, and cpu only running at 416mhz to avoid extreme battery drainage!! OWNED!!)

Re: Are you still getting the device after all the bad stuff we have read?

I have my Diamond, till tomorrow or Sunday, or whenever Sprint decides to release the damn thing. I am going to trade up to a TP, I have read peoples comments, and most of them seem a bit futile. If for some reason I don't like the TP, I will just come back to my Diamond. I don't know about your individual experience with the Diamond/Pro but this screen is super responsive.
There's just no way you could ever keep up with the amount of speed from the On screen keyboard with a QWERTY. As soon as I get my TP I will take a video to show you just what I mean. That's really the only complain I have is the battery life but we all want more juice, so that's not surprising that most would complain about it.

I got mine for 202.00 from Best Buy on the 25th, and I wouldn't trade it for any other phone out there (Except possibly the touch HD....but prolly not even that)

Re: Are you still getting the device after all the bad stuff we have read?

I have about ten days to keep the diamond or trade for the pro. I think most of the problems of the pro are are shared by the diamond. However, I really like the size of the diamond and have learned to type pretty well using my two thumbs -shocking since leaving the 700wx.

Since I can live without the keyboard, I have to think of why i would upgrade? How good is the tv out? Why would i need more than four gigs of memory?

I was hesitant but decided to pick it up tonight since a local BB had it back in stock.

So far, it is a big time upgrade from the 6700 I was using. So far very pleased and it will get a work out in business and fun!! :)

I love my Pro and I'm loving it more and more with each passing day. :) It has a few bugs but it's a HUGE improvement over my Mogul.

Where's the "I already have it and I enjoy it, what bad stuff are you talking about?" option?

Honestly, what's the point of some of these polls? Haven't we had enough "are you going to get it despite the XYZ?" The only people making them are people who don't even have the thing.

i'm right here with you...TV out.. hard kb... flash camera... not sure if it would be worth it for me cause i'm fine with the default kb, size and weight. i wont be able to properly decide until i can judge them side by side in a sprint store... whenever THAT day comes!

I got it and the biggest problem is the smudges (and that is a total non-issue) :) I LOVE IT!! very few problems if any! haven't had it long enough to really test the battery but with my usage paradigm (extra points for big word?) it seems to last enough. I got a car charger for $20 just incase though :)
