Re: Battery & Performance hacks - all cabed up for my friends
I use mine all day long for work and go from 100% down to 20% in about 9 hours. I installed this and right away noticed and increase in battery life. I'm now only at about 50% after 9 hours!

Re: Battery & Performance hacks - all cabed up for my friends
Ok, I just got my TP (sprint) Friday. I saw a recommendation to do this. I have never done anything like this before so I want to go through the steps and make sure I got it right. I saved the zip file to my desktop, plugged in my phone via usb, opened the phone on the computer with windows explored, opened file explorer on the phone dragged the zip file to the phone (I put it on the phones memory not the sd card). When I opened the file on the phone there were 2 items in it a text item and then the one I guess I am suppose to "tap". I tapped it and waited for a couple minutes...nothing happened. I assume that nothing is really suppose to happen. Then I took my stylus and pressed the reset button. So, did I do it right? Is there a way I can now look on my phone to see if the changes took place (a detailed how to would be great for this noob). Also, if I wanted to do this procedure without the cab how do i find these locations ( for example hkey_local_machine....)? Thanks in advance for the help! One more thing, if I did do this properly do I need to keep the file on my phone or can I delete it?

Re: Battery & Performance hacks - all cabed up for my friends
open the zip folder on your computer, grab the .cab file and put that on your phone (doesnt matter if you put it on device memory or storage card). On your phone, go to where you saved that .cab file and tap it. a screen will almost immediately pop up saying it is being installed. It will then ask you where you would like to install it (device or storage card) I suggest device. When its done (it will tell you its done), wait a minute then soft reset.
To do it manually you will need a registry editor program. I find it easiest to use one that you install on your computer and run through activesync. I use CeRegEditor. Search, you will find it if you want. Once installed, you connect your phone via activesync, open CeRegEditor, "connect device", then you can navigate to those keys and edit the values. Save, disconnect, wait a minute, then soft reset. If you have never edited a registry before i would def recommend atleast backing up your contacts and such using a program like PIMbackup or backing up your whole phone using something like Sprite backup or SPB back up. |
