Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
i posted in another thread that htc america has acknowledged this as an internal issue and will release it in a future maintenance release. so they know full well about it. i spoke with an htc engineer directly about this. rprpchnow was a big help. i sent them his troubleshooting reg entries and that helped...

Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
Let it be known that I tried every major version all the way back to 1.6.17913. No dice.
I used eRice with no MSVC, and installed the major retail and embedded versions. I also tried the newest 1.6.19972 from JD's ROM... Still nothing. |

Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
just found some info:
The Bluetooth functionality does not currently work properly on the Samsung Blackjack Windows Mobile 5.0 HTC Touch Pros prior to AKU3. Incoming caller ID announcements will be spoken via the phone speaker on HTC Touch Pros with a Windows Mobile build prior to 15097.3.0.0. from this site http://htc-touch-pro.handster.com/software.php?id=1667&for=HTC+Touch+Pro |

Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
I, for one, am GLAD it doesn't announce incoming calls. I can do with less distractions.

Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
Any update on the MSVC not announcing incoming calls issue? Also....how the heck do individuals become senior members? Or even Moderators?
|
Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls

Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
Tonight as I was playing some music using my Jabra BT3030 headphones, voice cmd. actually announced the sender and subject line of a new email I received with perfect clarity. Not very useful perhaps, but kind of creepy-cool. :)

Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
I followed up with my friendly HTC Rep. and they said as usual a fix is in the mix, however they are being swarned with calls regarding this issue which is pushing this fix one step closer to putting smiles on our face!

Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
I don't have a TP but what you guys might look at is trying the audiopara.csv off a diamond.

Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
MSVC have always had problems...On my mogul...VC only announces texts/picturemail and some email...sometimes. No rhyme or reason...so wait I will for it to work properly on my TP now.
|
Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
MSVC is working perfectly in my TP after making the regedits listed earlier in this thread.
It even announces incoming calls through my S9 BT headset. I am using the vz leaked ROM so that may have something to do with it (I am using a Sprint TP on vz service) ~John |

Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
Heres and update via Email I got from HTC yesterday, thought I would share:
Hello Mike, Thank you for your inquiry about the Voice Command feature on your Touch Pro. I understand how important it is that voice command announce incoming calls. I have been seeing this issue with other customers using the Sprint Touch Pro. Currently, we are looking into a resolution for this issue. Any software fix for this issue will be hosted on our support page. I can add your device to our ongoing investigation if you would like. In order for me to do that, I will need your device's serial number and ESN (beginning with "A"). Mike, I hope we have answered your question in detail. Feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions. HTC Technical Support http://www.america.htc.com http://www.htcwiki.com |

Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
When I first got my TP, these regedits worked great. I like the announce the incoming call feature & always had it working in my old Titan.
I messed up the TP & did a hard reset & now I can't get the feature to work again........ ~John |
Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
I'm always a little sketchy on making changes to the registry. First off, how do I access the registry on my Touch Pro? Second, once I access the registry, will these files overwrite existing files, or do i manually type in the new ones. Appriciate all your guys help and support.

Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
tried this tweak to increase call announce volume but sadly it does not work
increase the volume , navigate to HKCU\Control Pannel\SoundCategories\VoiceCommand1 Then change the value of AttenuationCategory from 4 to 1 Sound of the voice command will be even higher than the ringing tone. You can also change the value of InitVol to 40 |
Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
This is sort of off topic.
I wanted to know if it was possible to make voice command read off emails, texts or notes? I know it reads them off when they're first come in, but I wanted to know if I could select an old text and make it read it. |
Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
Any news to a fix to this problem - Or has everyone just edited their registry? One other question i Would imagine i need to download a registry editing program if i were to perform the fix and suggestions?

When I first got my TP, I did the edits & it worked although the announcements weren't very loud. After a bunch of mods I messed up the phone & had to hard reset. I haven't been able to get it to work since & I don't really care as it didn't really work very well anyway. ~John |
Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
I Stopped by the sprint store today to check into this - the tech guy did not know of this issue we tried on the phone instore it did not work on tp- on the diamond it did however work ---kinda wierd are they not the same programs?
|
Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
reg edit worked for me but the announcement is to low so i am sill waiting on a fix from sprint or htc
|
Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
I noticed something, if I answer the phone on 1 ring (actually just before the 1st ring ends) i get the announcement. How ever, the announcement continues after the call is picked up. So it appears that there is a conflict with VC and the ringer (hence the reg edit working sometimes).
|
Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
Hmm I tired the registry hack but it seems like it doesnt work for me. Im using my bt headset and all I hear at first is static then the ring tone plays for about two seconds then static again.
|
Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
Thought I would chime in here.
Im using the Telus TP and I am also having the same issue. I havent tried the reg edits but I dont really use bluetooth so I might wait. I will speak to my HTC rep shortly and see if there is any news for the Telus crowd regarding a fix. |
Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
JD has it working on his 3.0 rom......only problem I am having is getting it work via the BT....you can initiate it and it will go to the screen but does not launch the call or speak back to you like normal....I lost my Jawbone 2](*,)....using my H700 that did work before also...if others can test on another BT let me know the results...I have been trying different regedits to get it to work....it does work via the handset and it does announce incoming calls through the BT also....
EDIT: Forget it it is fully functional.....JD reported his is working fine....time for me to get a new Jawbone I always hated this H700..... |
Re: voice command not announcing incoming calls
so is there a fix then? what did JD do to fix it? is the fix in most custom roms now?
