battery meter with percentages

This works on the Touch pro:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424926

It gives a cool colored battery indicator in the top of the screen which also shows the % of battery life remaining.

Re: battery meter with percentages

do you have to use the SDKcerts.cab too or just the batteryiconsonly.cab file?

finster869 10-26-2008 12:07 PM

Re: battery meter with percentages

You also have to use the sdkcerts.cab.

Re: battery meter with percentages

Is it normal for the touch pro to only report battery status for percents in intervals of 10%..? IE 100%, 90%, 80%, 70% ETC, ETC.

Yeah. We had to use a patched battery driver on the Titan to get better resolution on battery %. I'm sure someone will release a hacked/patched one for TP sometime.

I used the same one from NoChem (nuePower) and it works fine on the Touch Pro...

wait mine doesn't even say a percentage... i have to dl a cab to show it?

Edwood 10-27-2008 11:14 PM

Re: battery meter with percentages

Yeah. Mine just shows a segmented green bar. No percentages at all in battery preferences. Don't know why they got rid of the numbers.

1% increments work great with the Sprint Touch Pro and the Tray Battery Meter, but nuePowerCPL extra info does not. Just the plain old defeatured battery meter with not even any numbers on it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/imag...lies/frown.gif

I replied to you on XDA, but I'll post it here also for others:

"Actually, it does work, but you have to click on the "Power & Backlight" icon in the System tab under Settings. It doesn't replace the default Power app."

This little trinket is "cool", but I've yet to see anything that beats the pure functionality of Vista Hide. It's a quick and clear reference, and it doesn't look terrible or anything. It also doesn't take any space on the taskbar icon section.

Yeah, I just noticed that. Is there any way to get it to go to Nue's Power and Backlight instead of the stock "power" one? Perhaps a registry edit to point it to NuepowerCPL?

I installed this on my phone with the two cabs and I am having problems. I notice once installed it causes problems with the email screen on my touch pro. It causes the phone to send you back to the home screen sometimes when you try to connect.

Anyone else have this problem

I installed the two cabs but cannot get it to show smaller increments than 10%. How did you guys get it to show 1% increments right by the time? Also, my calendar details have suddenly disappeared. It just shows a link to calendar now. Any ideas?

scutler 10-31-2008 11:58 AM

Re: battery meter with percentages

I just used the link that Finster869 provided and downloaded both cabs. Works great. You do have to download both cabs or it will not work.

Humm. I am brand new to the TP, but I know that I want a percentage battery life. I am just learning to use the phone before I start modding it. I dont even know how to install a cab file as yet. I will definitely be installing this though.

Here's another option you can just throw in your start up folder, in case anyone here doesn't want to install a cab :)

Ugg I feel like such a newb here (first winmo phone heh).

Soo I installed the two cabs for that first battery, did a soft reboot... now what do I do to get the battery to show up? lol.

omg, cough cough, I guess it wouldn't show a battery with the damn power plugged in! LOL.

Thanks for the batt... looks dang good!

Can the people who got 1% increments to show on the taskbar tell me what files and what steps they followed to get this app to work? Also, do you guys have other applications running? Mine is STILL showing 10% increments on the taskbar.

Install these 3 files.

Re: battery meter with percentages

After you install the 3 files, if the battery doesn't show up with percentages, go to "settings", "system tab", power. Close out of power and it should show up when you return to the home screen.

Is there a particular order that these files need to be installed in? I have all three installed and am also only seeing power readings in 10% intervals? Also, do you need to navigation to the power setting after every powerdown/soft reset on the device?

install the nuepower driver first. then install the sdsdkcerts.cab followed by the FInixNOverBatteryIconsOnly.cab... Make sure you install all three files on the device. After this you will have the new battery icon with percentage meter in place of the old one.

Would this intefere with QuickMenu? I installed QM and part of it was to also show battery percentage, but it doesnt work. I still like QM for the menus, but I also want the batt to show %.

Re: battery meter with percentages

Thanks for posting this info up! Now, I'm running the newest version of Batti, which is kinda like vista hide (except more customization) AND the battery percentage meter.

It's great because batti shows when the phone is charging and the indicator shows on every screen.

The battery percentage meter shows up on the touch flo screens only, but shows the exact increments by percentage. Combination of both is perfect!

I followed this procedure and mine now shows the % by 1 increments. Thanks!

I have the battery indicator working but now my home button moves one icon to the left each time you press it rather than going to home page. Have i done something wrong or is something else going on? What was the purpose of the three cab files.

I would be interested in this as well, I had one a while back but it was huge and bloated. I want just some power statistics.

Maybe I will program one myself.

I'm pretty sure Diamond Tweak allows you to hide it completely, indicate the date, indicate the time, indicate the time & date. Not 100% positive, but other than that the cab also allows you to do a lot of other great things to help improve performance of your Touch Pro:
