The stock task manager is \windows\taskmgr.exe
Create a shortcut to that and place it in the \windows\start menu\programs
Then map your button to programs and then your shortcut.
You may be talking about dropdown menu on the today screen.

I have a question if anyone can help.

Why is it that on the touch pro, when you go to (settings-buttons) it only lets you change 1 button?

You can only take the send(hold) key and set it to the application you want but you can't change any of the other hardware buttons. I mean there is this big old box with the one option. Am I missing something. Before I try AEplus, I wanted to know if there was a way to add more buttons to that box. I don't feel like I need AEplus cause I really just want to be able to do two things. I want to have a button for my voice calling and one for my task manager. I just need to change one more button!!!!

I downloaded wmsnapshot program and need to dedicate a button to make it work. When I go into Start>Settings>Buttons I can't figure out how to dedicate a new button to the program. Can you help?

I've been playing with AEButton Plus and Mort Buttons a bit, trying to map out an optimal set of commands for my own use. It's very tempting to want to map everything possible, but you also have to be realistic. If you only use a given app once in a great while, it doesn't make much sense to map it to a button because you're going to forget what button or how many presses, etc. I've used some of the suggestions in this thread, but also some of my own. I also constructed a template of sorts to help with remembering where things are. This is especially helpful when you're still playing and trying to figure out what will work best. I'll attach an image of the template. The template only maps out the D-pad enter key and the "red" and "green" phone buttons. I know some people are trying to map home and ok, but I didn't want to mess with them due to some of the issues and because having the others is plenty for me at the moment...

AEButtonPlus, free, will let you alter the function of keys. Once it is downloaded on your phone, open it up and figure out which key is the 'home" key according ot AEButtonPlus. Opt to let AEButtonPlus control the button. You will map the Home button to go Home by pressing once; you can map it to go to Start menu by pressing twice.

Does anyone else have problems mapping the center D pad button of the touch pro using AEB Plus? I can map it ok for the double, triple and long press, but when I map it to anything, the single press (mapped to press "enter" or call default handler) doesn't work anymore... It seems to disable the main function of the center button (enter). It's a pretty important function to press enter so currently I can't map any other functions to the button, because the main one then becomes disabled... What am I doing wrong here? Reading some other posts on this tread, it seems like others were able to map this button successfully and still use the "enter" function. A specific sequence maybe? I've tried this with a couple different ROMS including the stock SPRINT ROM and I get the same results. Can anyone help? I should point out that I have a fully registered version, and I've been able to map the green and red buttons successfully.

Maybe try the light version and see if that works? That's the one I use and I've mapped doube, triple and long and left single the same and it doesn't disable anything...
