If you search this forum for "iguidance" you would find more information on to why it does not work with HTC products right out of the box.

But in summary, you need an additional program called Gpsgate to get iguidance up and running. Rumor has it when the iguidance will fix this problem on the new 2009 program.

The tts is great with iguidance but for some reason it is not smooth so you might miss a turn becasue of this.
TomTom 7 gets my vote.

Does anyone how would i view tomtom favorites address? I have favorites on my tomtom one car unit and i cannot find a way to view the address to those favorites. Any help would be appritiated.

Can someone confirm that the SPRINT Touch Pro's GPS works without a cell signal? So far, I have not been able to make it work. I turn off the cell radio, do a soft reset, and none of my GPS apps finds a signal. The only thing that looks remotely hopeful is GPSTuner, which seems to show two satellites with weak signals. (However, I haven't tried in the best signal locations). Can someone go through these steps (radio off, soft reset) to confirm the GPS works in standalone mode?

Re: Best GPS Mapping Software

I have been looking for a program that has voice recognition integrated with a search feature integrated with turn by turn navigation by voice announcements...AND integrated with the phone functions...for my TouchPro. I had an Instinct, and that was THE APP that really blows anything and everything out of the water. Currently using TeleNav thru Sprint...but am looking to try out TOMTOM7

I have this same question. I own several stand alone Garmin GPS's (60CSX, eTrex Vista HCX, III+, Nuvi 350) and would like to stay with their interface, but it seems they do not offer anything more than a Nuvi type product for the mobile phone market. I'd like something more along the lines of the 60 and etrex, where it will allow me to put in my own offroad routes, waypoints, etc. I don't really need topo, but that would be a plus.

So, anyone know of a more trails friendly GPS product for mobile devices?

Re: Best GPS Mapping Software

Yes. I turned on airplane mode and turned on iGO and I was able to get 6 sattelites in about 10 seconds. TomTom won't work in airplane mode.

Re: Best GPS Mapping Software

I use Sprint Nav and instead of paying $10 per month I just went to Tele Nav that and paid $250 for 4 years comes out to $5 per month. Live traffic, live maps and turn by turn. I have an old SERO so Sprint Nav is not FREE!
