Re: Previous Diamond Owners Only... How do you compare the touch pro to the diamond?

I just picked up a PRO last night and the phone did get pretty hot after a 30-60 minute phone call. Apart from that I'm very satisfied with the device. I've been using the TD for about a month and consider both phones really good devices for who they are marketed to. I love having a slideout keyboard and expanable memory. Plus, it is a just a solid feeling device. Haven't got to play with TV out yet since the device doesn't come with the cord and no one in the area sells it. Will probably search online later tonight.

Re: Previous Diamond Owners Only... How do you compare the touch pro to the diamond?

INteresting thing that one of my kids pointed out this morning - the Teeter game seems to play much smoother on the TP than it did on the Diamond.

At first I was like, yeah, whatever. But then I did notice that the little ball seems to roll around much faster/smotther.

Don't know if this is an issue with the g sensor or the graphics drivers, but there's definately a difference...

Re: Previous Diamond Owners Only... How do you compare the touch pro to the diamond?

Hey guys,
This question is for those with a Sprint Diamond Touch Pro. How much thicker is this phone vs. the Sprint Diamond. Sprint diamond is thicker than the regualr Diamond because of the larger battery. Thanks.

Re: Previous Diamond Owners Only... How do you compare the touch pro to the diamond?

My .02 cents...

- I actually think the battery life so far is fantastic.
- I agree that the audio seems to be a bit low
- It does not get any warmer than the Mogul did...certainly nowhere near how the Diamond does
- I'm not having any issues with the GPS, I get a lock fairly fast in the basement of my house. I haven't had a lot of opportunity to test it out yet so I may not be the best source of info on the GPS
- I think it seems a bit more stable and perhaps a bit faster than my Diamond was. However, I might just be giddy because I finally have a keyboard again!

Re: Previous Diamond Owners Only... How do you compare the touch pro to the diamond?

The battery cover is extremely annoying. It doesn't fit completely snug so it "clicks" like the htc TOUCH does. I have started to play around with shimming it with paper but so far no luck.

The extra software offered that the diamond doesn't come with is nice. The business card reader is very convenient with 1 drawback.... it files the contact with the first name first with no option to change it on the phone. All my other contacts are filed with the last name first.

Haven't tested the printer software or tv-out yet as I'm out of town and my video cables are at home. It has the g-sensor level calibrator that did not comeo n the diamond.

The difference in size is not as drastic as I thought. After owning the touch and TD, and finally going back to a hard keyboard, I can say they are overrated. I usually just stick with the on-screen keyboard rather than messing with the slider.

Wow, I'm surprised you don't like the hard keyboard. I had the Diamond and I'll be honest, I was struggling with the on screen keyboard so much I had pretty much stopped using it for e-mails and responding to texts...etc. I finally got to the point where I absolutely had to have a keyboard again so the early release of the TP was just in the time.

To each his own though and that is the great thing about these devices..everyone can have what they want!

I like the keyboard, it's the whole reason I have been waiting for this device, well... tv-out and card scanner were up there as well. After having a 6600 and Mogul, I just figured I would be more exciting about the keyboard. I guess I just got so used to the touch's and TD's.

Anyone else annoyed by the "clicking" of the back cover?

Re: Previous Diamond Owners Only... How do you compare the touch pro to the diamond?

Seems much better to me except for one thing. I'm not sure if this is just my TP, but getting a response from tapping the two top corners is a pain in the ***. I mean sometimes I have to literally mash it so hard I think I might break the screen. My Diamond didn't have this issue. so i might have to take it back. Also, the SIP on the diamond is larger than that of the TP. see here Other than that, i'd say it is better than the Diamond for those who like the extra features of the TP, other than that they're about equal.

Re: Previous Diamond Owners Only... How do you compare the touch pro to the diamond?

regarding keyboards I would go with the touchpal one for the diamond or the pro. I have the pro and I find that touchpal is so much quicker but it is also good when your doing heavy texting to have a hard keyboard.

I really do like the pro and it is in a whole new class then the touch especially the screen. I don't know if it is worth the step up though. I say that becuase I had manila 2d on my touch and it was almost the same thing that this phone can do.

I also have the keyboard glitch problem with my phone so I have to return it for another one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh2yvLHAYbg . I can understand this because I went through 5 touch's before they go it right. (no joking). Anyway I got mine at such a good price that it would be hard to return. 254 out the door.

The diamond is just not different enough comparing it to the touch to make it worth me buying. If you can get the pro for the price of the diamond. Why would you get a diamond. Just a opinion.
