The thing is 2.8 diagonal but not very wide at all. Overall it looks and feels very nice but either my hands are huge or this phone is tiny. Wish the screen was bigger. All the pictures on the net make the phone look MUCH larger than it is in reality. Basically I'm just dissapointed in screen size and thought the keyboard would be a tad larger (bigger buttons). Overall size of the device seems very nice though. I'm still going to get it.

I thought the same exact thing when I first looked at the Diamond, I felt the screen should have been wider. I'll still get it though.

Make sure you get Bodyguardz protector for the Touch Pro. When it comes out, the diamond protector is out already.

The screen size on the Diamond, Touch Pro and Mogul are all the same, it's just since the phone is smaller and higher rez it doesn't seem as big. I too would like to know the weight difference between the Pro and Diamond and does it get hot after 10 mins or web browsing/phone calls?

question about the screen toughness:

i went into at&t and checked out the ip3g sometime ago and one of the things the guy tried to sell my on was that the screen on the ip3g was scratch proof. he asked me for my keys and then proceeded to scrape across the screen, then let me do so...no marks or even a single scratch. does the TP have a similarly tough screen? i see some talking about getting protective shields for it, but is that for the screen or the body?

i bought mine for $60.
$299 (2 yr contract price) - $180 (instore credit from previous purchase) - $60 (20% coupon) = $60 out of pocket for me.
hey,
i am in the oregon area and the best buys out here have th htc touch pro, i just got mine and i can swear it is sweet, the best phone out right now, i have not witnessed any problems in the two hours that i have had it. once, i turned it on, i started getting text messages from my friends on it and without reading the manula, it was easy to reply, the keyboard feels so good and easy to type on. way better than the worst phone ever that im going to smash up tonight and use it to scare the kids on halloween. yes, im talking about the samsung instink.

i have a feeling that even if the thin metal plate is in the Pro, logic would say thats simply lowering the heat to your hand, but not on the internals. It really wont make a difference in terms of harming the internals vs the Diamond and Im sure its not hot enough to hurt anything (if so youre covered under warranty and TEP anyways).

Again like the battery life (thinking its going to be better than the Diamond coming from one) i think people are blowing smoke without thinking first. A thin metal plate may keep your hand cooler but what is it really doing in terms of the damage? Unrelated solutions really if you think about it. Someone took apart a diamond and said theres a heatsink already so it should be fine.

Re: Touch Pro Reviews

well the point was it may and probably is getting just as hot inside as the Diamond, you simply cant feel it as much as the Diamond.

Its more of a cosmetic fix than the problem is actually solved, if that makes sense, kinda glazing it over to look better than it probably is. Feeling cooler wont alleviate problems from heat on the internals which is where the problem may lie at some point down the line.
