Off topic - but I'll point you in the right direction. Head over the the C-ApiSRO thread, the author has posted a new version that corrects the problem. It appears XM has changed URL to access the channel listing.

What about new contracts? Is it better buying the phone through Sprint Store or Best Buy? What are they going for at Best Buy?

wmwifirouter - http://www.wmwifirouter.com/ -- The only real reason to have a smartphone and something the iphone just won't do.

kinoma -- http://kinoma.com/ -- The media player windows mobile should have shipped with.

16gb micro sd -- already purchased off amazon (one of their markeplace vendors but arrived no hitches)

There's only two reasons I'm replacing my mogul -- to get rid of the !@#$ flashing LEDs, and the Enhanced Data Rate bluetooth that will let me tether at full rev A speeds.

The Mogul does bluetooth 1.2 data rates which is 1 megabit per second. The problem is Sprint's Evdo Revision A can support speeds of up 2 megabits (sometimes a bit higher, but realistically 1.5-1.7). So the phone talks to the net at 1.7mbps, the phone talks to the bluetooth tethered computer at 1megabits, you lose quite a bit of speed.

To get the full speed on a mogul you have to tether with a USB cable. (or use wmwifierouter to turn your phone into a wireless wifi router which is cool when you want to share with your friends but a battery killer even when plugged in)

Version 2 bluetooth with EDR (Enhanced data rate) supports speeds up to 3 megabits so you lose nothing when you tether wirelessly and your laptop zips along as fast as the network conditions allow.

There's more info on the wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth

Your laptop either has to have a bluetooth USB "dongle", a bluetooth PC or Express card, or an internal bluetooth radio. My Dell has it built in and it's always available just like wifi. To connect to the internet I use wmwifirouter to share my phone's internet connection (the default internet sharing works fine too but wifirouter is finger friendly and more reliable), then I click my bluetooth icon on my computer and select "Connect to a Personal Area Network", and poof, I'm on the net.

I can use wifirouter to broadcast wifi but again it runs the battery down real fast even when plugged into a charger (~2 hours on charger and less than an hour on battery alone).

Bluetooth was always designed to be low power so it lasts quite a deal longer than wifi and the charger can keep up with the drain.

The nice thing about wmwifirouter is that if it loses the connection it will reconnect automatically, usually invisibly so you never realize anything happened.

What is the main advantage of using wmwifirouter over the regular tethering, after the appropriate registry hacks have been made, of course =)
