Roms, Updates and Ideas

To attempt to calm everyone down about the delay and to give ya something to work on and think about. I have a Touch Pro I can work on at work here at HTC, I have been working on roms and looking for bugs and looking for ideas on programs that any of you would perfer or if you want information I can attempt to look for it on the phone and help out?

Here is what I have done right now

Roms: Removing all sprint material except for what is needed, and adding in some useful programs along with a TF3D Customizer to allow changing of tabs and such.

Bugs: Havent really located major ones but have found some issues with minor reg fixs and such.

Ideas: Looking for them so please through them out there.

Also on another note: as explained in a previous thread HTC is discussing again about the HD coming to the US. I was sent one for modification and updates to work with the CDMA and Radio networks, What we have done so far is pulled out the Radio board on a diamond and converted it into the touch HD, and currently working of flashing which seems to be going well. Ask anything you like on that one

With the diamond, If you have questions about the problems, or have any new problems besides battery life and heating please post and I can look into it for you to see what I can find out.

Hope this helps you, might help for the 2 weeks to pass a little quicker but I can tell you we shipped the Pros out to the main sprint hubs today so it is possible for the phone to be out earlier before NOV 2. Also I checked with out Corp Sprint Director today, and he is also questing the date but has stated the delay of NOV 2.

I wonder how long it will be before someone ports a custom boot loader over so we can make custom ROMs?

Critical, could you check the Raphael forum at XDA, since they have the GSM version and have numerous problems. Perhaps some of these could be headed off, or fixed faster with an update

XDA Touch Pro ROM ROM Development Thread - The Hard SPL is of particular interest for ROM development. Maybe you could work with someone like Olipro, CMonex or no2chem to make one compatible with the Sprint version

realistically it takes days for them to get to the sprint facilities, then the facilities have to receive them into inventory, and then etc etc. and then Sprint might be holding off selling them in order to let Best Buy do their week long thing.

and btw. thanks HTC worker guy. it's great to have factory reps on the board. you will definitely be an asset here.

If you're making custom ROMs, the RUU you're using to flash them would be of particular interest to the custom ROM scene.

I would have to agree. Working with either of the above people, would be the most benificial to people on this forum.

After viewing XDA looks like there is alot of work, What I am finding odd is that the problems there having with the GSM is not on the CDMA from what I can see right now, I'm also going to pull a GSM verison to look into this I will also obtain the RUU for you if it doesnt go against policy since the CDMA version is not distrubited yet but I dont see it being a issue. I did come across a small bug though. It seems that the Rev. A may be a issue, the phone likes to perodically go between 1x to rev A. My mogul stays in Rev A. EVDO with 4 bars so There is signal. Im looking into the reg today to see if the refresh rate is set to 1 instead of 0 which was known to be a issue on the diamond.

In all ways you are correct but for once sprint did pay for overnight ( very surprising ).
