Thanks for the points, I'll watch what's going on there. I've got a co-worker interested in one, but is looking for cheap. I suspect Sprint will start clearancing them as well (both the touch and mogul).

Sprint will STOP shipping them in September.
This was confirmed in our lastest news letter.
So the price "should" go down.
But getting one through sprint may prove difficult after the Pro launches.

So I've decided... immediately upon its release, I will own a Sprint Herman.

Now the only question remains... do I put a picture of Herman Munster on the background in order to match the whole slick, black, blocky design ... or do I put a picture of Pee Wee Herman on it because it's the phone that touches itself? (joking on the latter, of course)

I vote Munster, because if the police turn on your phone and see Pee-Wee, you might get held more than you'd want to =]

PLEASE NOTE: This information may very well be inaccurate as I have since received a Sept 2 date from another corporate rep. However the below information was found in an official Sprint notice to some sales reps, so I thought you'd all like to know about it regardless. Just take it with a grain of salt!


Hey all,

First off, a brief introduction. We are a corporate customer of Sprint Nextel, and I decided to quickly meet with our rep today regarding the upcoming HTC phones in search of some new information or confirmations possibly. I was informed that a new notice just went out to Sprint representatives that listed both the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro with October 19 release dates. She tells me that this is subject to change, but this is the most recent update they have received and it just occurred today.

Also interesting is that the phones apparently will be branded the Sprint Touch Diamond and Sprint Touch Pro as opposed to the previously reported Herman et al. She recalls a meeting where one of the top execs at Sprint joked about how they would market a phone called the HTC Herman, so that apparently is not happening (thankfully).

No MSRP has been given yet, but she is going to keep me updated.

And with that, of course, I will also keep all of you updated should I receive any information prior to the rest of the community here.

Thanks immensely for a great crowd, and I'm looking forward to this phone more every day.
