I feel that I have a pretty nice (non-contractual) setup going on... but it's still more expensive than your "oh crap" price-point... I've just held onto an older plan...

I guess I just find it funny that people are frothing at the mouth of a phone that will probably cost them $400-600 cash, and yet a $60 monthly bill would be outrageous to them... Most of the people on the SERO plans, on the forums, typically upgrade their phones more than once per year on top of that...

amusing to me... but to each their own, I suppose.
SERO= Sprint Employee Referral Offer, so no you don't have to be a Sprint employee or even direct family. You can be referred by a Sprint employee. Some people aren't, but there are those of us who were, and yes we do like our plans. Also, stereotyping all of us into the group (that includes very few really) that upgrades their phone every few months isn't cool either.

On another note, I will be upgrading to a touch pro (after OVER a year with my current device) when it is released.

That's all fine and dandy... but I still find it personally amuzing that people whine all day long if they have to pay anything remotely close to the rest of us... and among these forums, I can say that one phone a year is not the norm... it is for me, but a lot of people just jump to the "new hotness."

Re: Raphael/touch Pro Comin To Sprint??

Im jumping to 'the new hotness' because i want hardware accelerated graphics, and more RAM, and a nicer form factor, and improved UI, upgraded USEFUL camera with autofocus and flash, and VGA screen. The jump between the Mogul and Touch Pro is 10x that of the jump between the 6700 and Mogul, so DEFINITELY worth getting 'the new hotness' this time around.

The phone industry seems to have taken a page from the auto-industry: approx. every 3 model years there is a model revamp, and all years in between is slight tweaking, smaller features added, issues corrected, and slight design changes. I expect the Touch Pro's successor to look somewhat similar to the Touch Pro, and the successor of THAT to be a much different design.

Unfortunately most of us are WinMo maniacs, we are lucky to have more than one phone released a year that is compatible with our service...lol

Last PPC released on Sprint came out last November!

Re: Raphael/touch Pro Comin To Sprint??

Please someone correct me if I'm mistaken on this, if there is already set in stone confirmation that this device is coming to CDMA (sprint/verizon). So here I have some somewhat official confirmation. Here begins our scenario...

I work at Best Buy in Shakopee, MN. As many of you are probably aware, Best Buy headquarters is in Minnesota so from time to time I get some people that tell me that what they are purchasing is an employee purchase, so me being curious I ask where within the Best Buy Corp., usually it's someone from cooperate. I always ask what they do for Best Buy.

About a month ago I get the Project Manager for Best Buy Mobile, the cell phone department. Which springs me to ask the question we all want to know, so I asked, "When is the HTC Touch Pro becoming available in CDMA?" She responds with, "In about 7 months, at least on the Best Buy shelves." !!!!!!!!!!!!!

So begins my wait for another 6 months for the ultimate phone to be in my hands...

Alltel has no plans yet for it but that's probably due to the merger - waiting to see what verizon somes up with.

All I know is, I want one. Damn the early termination costs, I'll go to crappy sprint if i have to

There has been no OFFICIAL confirmation from Verizon or Sprint, only leaks. It is officially on the Telus website in Canada and they are CDMA. IT has also p***** the FCC seal of approval for CDMA.

Obviously what I said isn't official. I am not the emperor of the Touch Pro phone. I'm just telling the community that it looks like it is pretty much for sure coming, but I guess for all you know I am lying (hence the unofficial part).

I was not trying to say anything about you or your post, I just put that up because you said correct me if I am wrong. I was only pointing out that we really know nothing but probably know a lot more than we really know. You know?

I couldn't agree more.

What I find funny are people that say that since you are spending a lot of cash for your phone, it is OK to blow your money on a plan that you probably don't like.

Actually it is not funny but more along the line of annoying.

To each his own....
