Well, you may need to run the locker again or re-unlock it depending on where you want to go from here. Did you flash the shipped rom back on it before you ran the relocker?

The stock ROM is back on it right now, yes. So you think it's a software/ROM problem, and not a hardware issue?

Re: Touch Pro continually restarts

Wasn't sure what order I did everything in before, so I started over. I ran the re-locker again to make sure it was re-locked, then I ran the un-locker, then I flashed back to HTC's official US Cellular ROM. So it is currently unlocked with an official US Cellular HTC ROM on it.

Re: Touch Pro continually restarts

I say try staring from scratch.

Unlock your phone again.
Task29.
Install any new rom.

This way you can isolate any problems if there are any.

Ok I've never heard of task29 until now but I will give that a try. It's the only suggestion I've heard that I haven't tried yet. Thanks! I will post results here once I try it.

Task29 (followed by flashing to stock, and phone is already unlocked) did not make any difference, unfortunately. Do you think this could be a hardware problem?

Re: Touch Pro continually restarts

I don't know if this could be a hardware problem but you can try other things to eliminate it being a software problem.

Try this, it is a lot of work but you can really isolate whether it is software related or not.

First install the stock Rom. This is the rom straight from the HTC website.
HTC Mobile Phone Support - HTC Touch

It is the download that is named,
HTC Touch Pro (US Cellular) ROM 1.08.573.2 | 07.20.2009

After flashing back to the stock rom relock your phone again using the locker.

After this is done, your phone should now be factory stock. Run it one time and let all the customizations install.
After this put it into the bootloader screen again.

Now unlock your phone again.
Your phone should look like the picture attached on the bottom.

Now run Task29 to wipe the factory rom.
And finally install a CUSTOM rom, try something different. I would suggest the NRG roms, very stable and customizable. You can find it here:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/cdma-tp-up...kie-2-0-a.html

Make sure everything you are using is for CDMA Touch Pros no GSM. US Cellular is CDMA.

so in a nutshell
1. Flash back to factory.
2. Relock your phone using the relocker.
3. Unlock your phone again.
4. Task29 to wipe the factory rom.
5. Use customizable rom.

I know you have tried all of these steps in different order but try it in this exact order. It may work, it may not. But if this doesn't work, you can be a little more confident, that it is hardware related rather than software related.

Done. I flashed one of the latest builds of EnergyROM to it. It worked flawlessly for hours; so long that I felt comfortable calling US Cellular and reactivating it (I've been using a crappy old Samsung dumb-phone). Then, to my horror, it started restarting itself again. Often it is when I push the power button to turn off the display. Any more software remedies? Or am I stuck with a dumb-phone until my contract is up for renewal?

Re: Touch Pro continually restarts

kinda sounds like your power button may be sticking. if you can get it running again, try the keyboard config (or ae button) to disable that button.

Alas, I have already tried using Keyboard Config to do just that. I too have suspected the power button, but even with it disabled it still restarts. It isn't only when I push the power button that it restarts; that's just sometimes. Other times it's for no apparent reason. Is it possible that the power button could still be screwing things up even disabled?

Edit: To clarify, disabling the power button eliminated the restarting due to pushing the button. It did not eliminate the random restarts.
