Touch Pro Freezing 10+ times/day and Oil Slick on screen

I've searched and found that the oil slick is common but my phone also has been freezing 10+ times a day (including almost every time I receive a call/txt). I did a hard reset and then used SPB Backup to restore my phone (should I have installed every cab separately instead?). The phone freezes to the point where I have to remove the battery to reset it. A lot of times the screen will also come on (randomly) and the hard buttons will not work (so you cant use the power button to turn the display off). I'm not really sure what to do at this point; I don't have time to deal with Sprint/Best Buy/Asurion to get a new phone but I also can't afford to not be able to answer calls.

Here's a list of what I have installed (I thought at first the problem was with S2U2 so I removed in and switched to Pocket Shield but the problem persisted.)

I have a stock ROM Sprint Touch pro with black theme (15 tabs) with an 8gb microsd. I'm not really sure how to fix it at this point. Any ideas?

1. Avoid SBP Backup next time you restore (hard reset), sometimes these backup programs will screw things up.

2. Try a different ROM.

Personally I'd go with the 2nd option.

+1 worth the try. gives you a chance to try a Rom youve been thinking about. Goodluck

I would also recommend you to try a rom and to NOT use back up programs to restore programs and settings.

Save your contacts through activesync and start new.

Ahh another fellow Mac user, welcome welcome, welcome to the world where we say NO to the iPhone lol.

Try the PIMBackup, it's free. It'll back up all your PIM information such as contacts, calender, task, even call logs and messages (SMS & EMail.)

Save it to your SD card and next time you restore, it won't affect your system. Just make sure you do a soft reset after restoring.

I had the same problem, I think it was a faulty phone, both things happened to me, which I find somewhat suspicious. If you have insurance, I would call them up and ask for an exchange, since it might be the phone that has the problem... after getting my new one I haven't experience any of the two problems noted yet...

Might just be a bad build model?
