who here paid to get their keyboard fixed?

my keyboard has been dying a slow death, and it has got to the point where i want to throw it out into oncoming traffic. i am out of the warranty period and and do not have the insurance. htc quoted me 150-350 to fix it, so i am wondering if anyone here has actually paid to get this fixed? did you take it to sprint or send it in to htc? i am eligible for an upgrade, but i am holding out for an htc android phone w/ keyboard or maybe the supersonic if it is actually coming.

Lesson learned for you to always get insurance so you can get it fixed forever free. But you can take it apart and fix the flex cable issue.

Why would you have a touch pro if you don't use the keyboard. That is one of the main selling points.

thanks for the link. i opened mine up and all three connectors were snug, so in typical geek fashion i took them apart and reattached them and secured them with black tape. we will see if that helps.

oddly enough, it seems like when i boot into winmo it works decently enough, but when i load android it is unusable. why that would make a difference is beyond me. if it is a hardware issue it should not matter, but i can tell you it does. i can use winmo for half a day and the kb will work fine. load android, and right away it struggles. it used to work in android, but it slowly started dying.

I had a touch pro and now the pro2, but still.....SD card is important to me besides all the rest. I think Diamond is more like iphone, it is for girls:evil4: just joking diamond users, so ya all chill out....

I hardly use my kb . I got the Touch Pro because it has a camera flash and I paid $1.50 for it because my Mogul was crap.
