Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

It must be the kernel modules, I tried two different sqsh'es and no dice on wifi. Rest is working great tho!

I hate to say it, but it's unlikely it'll work. No one has fixed the issues with the Verizon Touch Pro, and it probably won't boot at all. (Screen/Framebuffer issues, different memory map)

If it's running at 1 or 2 fps, then hardware acceleration isn't working. If you're getting 15 or 20 fps, then it is.

So far, the issues with the latest package I see are:

Wifi not working. Confirmed on my end. Can anyone who's played around with it tell me whether the wifi issue comes from running the latest system.sqsh or running the latest kernel/modules? (pretty sure it's the new kernel, which is a bummer, because that's hard to debug.)

CDMA Data not working unless you manually enter an APN. I used my old build that had custom APN settings, so I haven't tested this. I thought it had been fixed in the latest xdandroid package, but I guess not.

Great job.

Using 2/08 build

The UI seems a sluggish. Is this normal?

Who is doing work on the GPS?

And spectator, have you formatted your SD and started with a completely clean build?

I took your advice and re-formatted the SD card, and used a fresh boot. Unfortunately, I still have the same issues. Most of the time, it pretty much stay in command-line output, and it doesn't make it to the GUI or startup animation. It just seems to throw endless SQUASHFS errors. My wild guess is that it's tied to enabling the 2nd memory bank, but I have no idea how to use a newer build while turning that 2nd bank off.

Ok for those of you wanting SenseUI you can give this a try. Here is my Hero port

Works:
Sense UI

Dosn't work:
CDMA Data
CDMA Voice
GPS

Untested:
BT
Wifi is broken in kernel I think

Takes a while to boot. give it a good 5 mins on first run. Load the 3D app in winmo to get graphic acceleration

EDIT: Fixed link. lol I forgot to put it in

If you started with a fresh build and are running a RAPH800, I don't know what else to tell ya. Formatting + fresh/clean/untouched build usually fixes issues like this. You could also try another SD card if you can scrape one up... But it doesn't seem like that's the issue.

Wifi doesn't work for me either and I fresh installed it twice. I need Wifi cause I have a Hero now and the HTC Pro is used as my project phone and everything connects through Wifi. Also the moving wallpaper isn't working for me. Good work though guys. Keep it up.

I just started yesterday using the 2/04 build and everything works as it should, going to give 2/08 a try based on the success noted here. I had the hardest time getting data to work and reinstalled it three times before seeing you press "Home" to add APN. Does anyone know if hardware acceleration impacts overall performance, or just things in 3D?

WiFi is a known issue, I don't know if (m)any people have it working with this build. I got the matrix wallpaper to work, but the starfield one just sat there thinking for about 5-10 seconds then went to the wonderful nexus animation. Speaking of which, anyone able to make that as a screensaver for a regular computer? That would rock :)
