The newest eclair build (as of today) gives me relatively 0 problems (just a bit slow no bluetooth, no mic).

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800) - PRE-ALPHA (not yet usable)

I was able to get mic working on the 2010-01-06 version, I think. Apparently some fundamentals there are changing on the gsm side -- is it not working in the 2010-01-07 one?

bluetooth might still be a way off. I don't know what's going on there.

In general, though, I'm finding it to be really good. Touchpanel is the chief annoyance for me... but it seems stable (only had 1 crash so far, I think).

is it slow because we run it off of an sd card? or at least is that a contributing factor?

I see there is now a flan version floating around out there as seen on connectUTB (can't post a link, but I'm sure you guys will see/have seen it). Its for the RAPH500 and I know most of us in this thread have the RAPH800, but it still would be pretty cool. Any chance we that up and running?

I guess anything stable is the goal before moving up the android ladder, huh? Keep up the great work!

ting

Are you getting CDMA data working for US Cellular? If so, is there anything special you did?

By getting the mic working, do you mean through the "start a call in winmo" trick?

And sorry, I don't even HAVE a data plan, lol. As far as USCC knows, I have a Kyocera Tempo or e2000 or what have you. I just use the wi-fi :P.
And the ringer volume on the new build is LOW. I turned it all the way up in settings and it's still barely audible.

Just wondering if anyone has found a fix for the power management yet?? Great idea and loving it. Was about to buy a hero, waiting now to see how this works out.

Just noticed that SMS sending works but receiving doesn't.

I got the Flan build from connect UTB to boot up using the kernel pack from 01-01-2010. Its really unstable, though and looks like the radio...well pretty much nothing works. Wish I could help!

Yeah. Hacky working, not real working. Baby steps. :-)

Not sure if you saw the updated first post, but the latest build has power management somewhat working. After further testing, it appears to wake up frequently when the cell modem is turned on, but not if it's off. So that probably has to be optimized for ideal battery usage.

Huh. I'll test that out today. Do you know if it's an eclair-specific thing?

Also, got the battery status (sort of?) working -- seems super inaccurate and possibly delayed (it kept going up for a while after I unplugged it), but at least it's reporting something rather than nothing.
