I wasn't able to get the latest 06/13/2010 Android release to get a data connection either.

I added the missing "CDMA Generic" entry into /system/etc/apns-conf.xml .

While it seemed to help a little with detection of the network, the data connection was still not working. I didn't play around that long with it as I was concentrating on the fix for the looping animation at the time.

I'm attaching an updated apns-conf.xml file if you wanted to play around with it more.

See this post on ways you could replace the file.

Curious, did you do an upgrade of fresh install (ie did you keep your data.img or let a new one get created)?

I literally only tested for all of 5 mins, so my problem could easily just be Sprint having troubles at that time. Had the 3g symbol up, but only the left activity light would blink (which I think means the app is sending but getting no response).

Which boot screen? The kernel console (text) or the animation? Which version are you using? The latest one has a fix for looping at the animation stage. If it is a text screen, what does it say on the screen?

That actually wasn't a yes or no question.

Given your second answer, I'll assume you haven't reached the animation.

Do you see a whole lot of text scrolling on your screen?

When you say it is loading for an hour, is it stuck, or is it cycling through text?

Could you jot down some text that seems like it would be status messages?

Could you jot down some text that seems like it would be status messages? I will post that text for an hour
thank for help me
