Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro -- Now working on Verizon! And with GPS!
Is the any chance that the all in one package could be updated? For some reason I can not get the new rootfs to work with the current all-in-one package. I am running a Raph800 (Bell Canada) and for some reason when ever I copy in the new rootfs, my phone freezes on the lock screen after startup. I can easily fix the problem by re-copying in the old rootfs, but I really would like gps working. Mak if you have time and could post the your current working andboot that would be great.
Thanks for all of your hard work! |
Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro -- Now working on Verizon! And with GPS!
The new rootfs is working great for me; including a fully functional GPS!
However, I noticed that Street View isn't working. When you try to use Street View it says: "no application found to handle google.streetview" Is there something extra that needs to be done to get Street view? |

Wow, GPS CDMA! I'm booting up now with latest Kernel and RootFS!

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro -- Now working on Verizon! And with GPS!
Should I be deleting my data.img after the new RootFS? GPS doesn't seem to be finding anything so far.
* EDIT * Nevermind, GPS working! Just took a minute before it found any, then it found five right away. |
Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro -- Now working on Verizon! And with GPS!
I wanted to post some feedback after playing with GPS for a while.
1. GPS works very well. Was able to get lock with accuracy of 5 feet or so according to GPS Test. 2. I experienced no problems with the phone not sleeping with and without GPS. 3. Google Maps (Latest version) Navigation tells me unable to find route any time I try to use it. Latitude and Maps work great though. |

Bechard,
I was curious to what system, modules files you are using? I am using the latest All-in-one package and just replacing the rootfs and it hangs on the lock screen. Any info would be helpful. I am pretty sure your Telus phone and my Bell phone are almost identical. If some one could post a working all in one package with GPS that would be great! Thanks in advance. |

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro -- Now working on Verizon! And with GPS!
This is nice. Android actually WORKS on the Verizon TP. It obviously has a lot of "not quite finished" bugs in it, but other than that the first time I have been able to browse the web on it. :D
Now, there is an issue with the Market. When I try to download Market apps, it errors out with a message of insufficient storage memory to install. There is 1.8 GB available in Storage Card and 250 MB available in Application Memory... is there something I'm missing, or is this a feature that has to be updated? |
