Re: A new bug on the HTC Touch Pro
I think I read some time ago that it's a result of the phone polling the towers. Does this happen when more often when you are traveling or in a low signal area? As I recall, one person suggested setting the phone to stay in sprint only mode or evdo only mode or something like that. I'm not sure, but that's what I recall. I know keep my phone charging while in the car, and when it's charging, it stays on. So I won't be testing anything else.

yea happens to me all the time and i'm pretty sure it has to do with the phone roaming and going from evdo to 1x

Re: A new bug on the HTC Touch Pro
Yeah I've noticed that my screen turns on every time the signal fluctuates. No idea what the use is for that. Leaving the phone fully charged and unplugged overnight can cause it to lose 50% battery life by the morning! There's a ton of cab files for everything it seems, I just wish there was a cab to fix this too! :sign5:

Re: A new bug on the HTC Touch Pro
Used to happen all the time when I had my HTC mogul now happens with my touch pro. A bunch og googling and searching these forums and Howardforums tells me that it is due to the phone going in and out of roaming or switching towers.
One intersting thing is that whenever I drive up to my house, my phone turns on at exactly the same place in my driveway every time. Found out that it happens when my phone picks up the signal from my airave. I verified it by unplugging the airave and trying again several times and it did not turn back on. Plugged the airave back in and it started again. So, it is most likely that capturing or switching a signal location is what causes your phone to turn itself on. One other theory that was given to me is that it also happens when your phone either picks up or loses a data connection. Hope that sheds some light. David |
