Sprint TV cab *NEW downloads* WM 6.5 & Sense! Video+ TV Out, Free Disney/Sprint

5 Attachment(s)
A Sprint TV cab that works with old AND new style windows, Windows Phone 6.5 (6.5x) which has bottom right, X button & bottom left, Win-key/start button for a Touch Pro using Sense (TouchFLO). 23xxx or 28xxx included.

*** PLEASE if you know of or find a newer Sprint-TV cab either post here with a link or the cab itself, so we can keep everyone up on the latest... helping others... THANK YOU ***

Free ESPN & Disney channel (live) to all Sprint data customers.
Complete 'Basic' channel list here:
Sprint TV - Mobile TV from Sprint

** Don't get confused: Sprint TV & the TV/Video out cable have NOTHING to do with each other **
I've included the info below due to the massive amount of confusion on the subject!

Search terms (sprint tv, sprint_tv, sprintv, sprinttv, sprint-tv, sprinttv.cab, sprint-tv cab)

Touch Pro (TP1) SPRINT TV:
*1.7.1.89014 that works on VGA (TP), is the same WVGA (TP2) cab* Works fine on all ROMs, you may just have to run the sprint provisioning cab that came with your ROM build / flash,
Landscape isn't working on TP1 (you can watch TV fine in portrait mode... (up & down vs. sideways))

"1.7.1.97359 works on the TP1, and it does work in landscape mode using the accelerometer but the only downfall is it doesn't stretch the video to fullscreen while in landscape mode." (thanks)

Touch Pro (TP1) Video OUT:
(often incorrectly called TV out)
Use your multi adapter that came with it (USB male with female usb power, 2.5mm & 3.5mm), plug in any video cable (has to have 3 rings on it: gives you 4 contact areas, 1. ground 2. video 3. left speaker 4. right speaker not in that order), sometimes switching the red & yellow RCA side into the TV. (depending on the cable you use)
**Does NOT (WILL NOT) work with Sprint TV!!! (everything else including YouTube)
Read this thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=59236, check out pic in post #308ish. May need to run enabletvout cab in post 1, thanks to techfury90.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TP2 SPRINT TV: All cabs below work on TP2, you should see the welcome movie. After the initial install & you may start Sprint TV, if it "gets stuck" on the menu, & you can't select the softkeys.. (TV, Radio,..), simply open the keyboard, go into landscape mode & then the menu (soft keys) will work, you can even then watch back in portrait if you want.
SOFT KEY ISSUE FIXED ON NEWEST VERSIONS
TP2 Video OUT (called TV out): Does NOT work with Sprint TV!!! (everything else including YouTube) Any of the 4 methods (A-D) described below:
A. Take TP1 3 way adapter (power, 2.5mm, 3.5mm) from my old Touch Pro. Cut it open and cut the blue wire (pin 4). Then plug in any 3.5mm video cam cable (see above), sometimes you have to switch the red and yellow wires (plug red into the yellow port & vise versa). Phone switches into Video (TV) out mode automatically. Also known as "knocking out the pin" trick. Where you break off pin 4 of the male usb. (accomplishing the same thing)
OR
B. The "tape trick", cutting a super tiny piece of tape & taping pin 4 of the male usb side. Hard to do with big hands! Plus the tape comes off. YouTube videos if you google.
C. Use the same TP1 3 way adapter & any video cable (3 ring, see above) sometimes switching the red & yellow depending on the cable, THEN run the enableTV out cab below (should be named videoout.cab) This is also called the registry hack, but someone made up a cab (many of them out there) that when you run it either makes the reg mod or installs a program/toggle that makes it for you.
OR
D. Buy the HTC TV/Video out cable or a knock off like this: HTC Touch Pro2 TV Out Cable AC T110 #73H00274-00M - eXpansys Inc & it'll work for you. (tons of them out there, check ebay for cheaper ones)
** With some really old Win 6.1 ROMs & very old Sprint TV cabs, you could move the error box out of the way & watch Sprint Tv with video out, but that has long since been corrected.
** If you are loading a custom ROM, you should load/run the sprint provisioning cab for YOUR ROM. (You don't need the Mrx cab unless running his ROM, it has been reported to mess up some peoples data connections)
1.7.2108582 is the newest one!
(NOT Tested yet on TP1) Someone please test?
Re: Sprint TV 100% Working!
Good luck. I asked the same question a few weeks ago but didn't get a response... The newest TP ROMS seem to break Sprint TV but there hasn't been a fix for a while. I assumed that most of the Sprint TV gurus jumped to the TP2...
On a side note, I actually did recently upgrade to the TP2 and the SprintTV fix does work for the TP2. And honestly, I think Sprint TV has improved. Everyone used to ridicule its lousy image... and for good reason. Maybe my eyes are getting old but to me the picture quality has really improved.
The cab doesn't require a hard reset, only if you installed one of his earlier provisioning cab. When you run the cab it will not hard reset your phone. Honestly I don't see why it wouldn't work for the TP1. Good luck in trying and let us know if it works, cuz if it does I will be running it on my TP1 tonight.
Re: Sprint TV 100% Working!
Mike & x10, you both have TP2's. Did you both run the MrX cab? Or just the new TV cab??? If you ran the mrx, could you please explain the stop provisioning part? (exactly how & when)?
thanks
Re: Sprint TV 100% Working!
I ran the version cooked in Mighty Mikes rom. The way it worked is, first flash the rom. I did the hard reset after it was done. I let it run the setup all the way then went to system folder (MM's ROM) and found the provisioning cab. I hit the SPRINT one and hit commit. The phone installed a cab and reset. Its all done, no hard reset or anything like that just a regular softreset. Then I'm good to go MMS works and sprint tv. I haven't had a chance to try it on TP1 yet but will tonight.
Are you running 2.1 or 2.5? What Sys?
When I was using my TP I could never get it to work with Energy's 2.5 or Indagrooves. Both those ROMs were the more "finger friendly" ones with the Start menu on the bottom. That might be one of the issues.
Thanks! Yes this is only an inquiry for:
"make the Sprint TV work with 280xx or 235xx ROM's?"
(EnergyROM, raidzero, Indagroove & XDA's Vetvito's (my current ROM) and Calk's before he got a TP2)
Calk used to have a fix, but hasn't worked for me in quite some time.
(Prior to the "more "finger friendly" ones with the Start menu on the bottom.")
Thanks for the response. Ahhhh yes, the cooked in version. Hmmmm, well every time I run Mr X cab, it screws up my data & none of my progs can connect to the internet (as a few have reported). I even installed the "sprint cabs" cab that does the Sprint Profile & PRL... but since it can't connect to the internet... guess I'll have to hard reset again...
Not to be negative, but... I wonder if all the "100%" magic isn't in the new WVGA cab file itself!?
Thoughts?
(Not brave enough to PM master Calk or Mighty Mike) :drunken:
Re: Sprint TV 100% Working!
I think the problem is that you are running cabs designed for the TP2, so it's not surprising that it messes up your data. Unless a guru steps up there seems to be really only 2 options
1. Go back to a ROM that works with Sprint TV. There are plenty but they just aren't the latest and greatest
2. learn to live without SprintTV, until you have an opportunity to upgrade.
teradog 12-10-2009 06:40 PM
Re: Sprint TV 100% Working!
Never back, only forward. I've done at least 50 different ROM's & versions of them as well as many kitchens. Thanks, but I'm well aware of how to make that POS sprint tv cab work... but am not going back. I'm trying to determine:
1. If someone has it working & is slow to share (on the new sys)
2. If not, look into the TP2 fix & determine exactly how & why it works, and try to do the same on the TP.. I'm guessing there are more than a few of us out there that want it. If it's only a matter of the new WVGA cab and not all the other stuff as some seem to be reporting... then I'm still SOL. But, if it has something to do with the text files, then it's a possibility.
3. I've "live(d) without SprintTV" for a he77 of a long time now. And I quote, "no big deal, but..".
Re. upgrade.. I have insurance... I'm sure trusty old TP will break sometime, but I won't "use" the system & won't cause the breakage.
Thanks for the CAB. However, according to your signature, you're using an EnergyROM that's running a 21xxx build. The concern is getting SprintTV running on the 23xxx or 28xxx builds of WinMo, which from what I understand has not been successful.
Still worth a shot, though, I suppose.
Thanks, have had that one since 2008.
Lemmmme guess Energy 21884 or older (21xxx) right?
Your start button is on top left & x button on top right correct?
Again, the fix most of us are looking for (given up on) is the 23xxx or 28xxx line. *(edit fat fingered)
Perhaps I should simplify: Anyone have Sprint TV cab running on any ROM with the "windows button" on the bottom left & the X button on bottom right?
If so, please share! Thanks in advance!!
Re: Sprint TV 100% Working!
Ok, so I just tried the cab posted previously by Gelladuga69, just on a whim, and as I suspected, it doesn't work. The program loads fine but I get a connection error when I try to play a video. Now, this is my first time trying to get SprintTV working on a custom ROM (rarely have a need for it, but thought I'd give it a shot...). Is this the typical problem?
I'm running a custom built ROM from Calkulin's 4.2 kitchen w/ build 23506. Also cooked in Manila 2.5
x10guy 12-10-2009 08:28 PM
Re: Sprint TV 100% Working!
It seems that SprintTV is broken on 23xxx TP ROMs or to put it another way, ROMs with the Start Menu on the bottom.
Re: Sprint TV 100% Working!
Before I switched back to Energy, I was using NFSFan, and his build is on 28008.
The TV cab that I posted still worked.
i2nd2none 12-10-2009 09:41 PM
Re: Sprint TV 100% Working!
not necessarily broken..currently running rootrom 1209 version 23506 and sprint tv is working on his rom that is cooked in. Might want to ask root on how or what he did to make sprint tv to work. I ran it on my tp as well as a coworker running same rom. hope that helps..i to am a fan of sprint tv and also wondered if there is a fix? gl
Re: Sprint TV 100% Working!
I'm using Sprint TV with DCD's latest, 2.30, which I believe is a 23081 build according to "Device Information". I installed the SprintTV cab (same one posted above), then "Calkulin's Sprint TV Fix", and restarted, and it's been working for a couple weeks fine.
Re: Sprint TV 100% Working!
Now that's what I'm talking about!
THANKS FOR THE INFO!
Going to download & burn each of these one by one & test starting right now. Then PM the ROM owner of those that I get to work on mine. Ideally would be nice to be able to run a cab on any ROM & have it work!
Thanks button clicked to each of you.
** edit **
Will report back.
In the meantime, if anyone else can chime in on a solution, thanks your way.
Re: Sprint TV 100% Working!
Will update 1st post with this info
Root ROM = WOW Works great, best i've ever seen (except probs with landscape mode)
I thought I'd tried just about every ROM worth trying, even burned a few off XDA, and this one was sitting right here! Think I'll be on this one for a while. This has Sense 2.5 (Touch Flow) & bottom start/windows & X button!! Weather, etc..
Uses this Sprint TV (don't know if uses Calkins fix or not): Version: 1.7.1.89014
Will find, download & test that version on other ROMs.
** so far it appears that ROM's "reported" to have it working are NOT Sense (aka Touch Flow) **
Just did NFS
Installed
NFS (listed above)
Sprint tv 08 (one posted 2x on this thread to ‘device’)
reboot
Caulkins fix was “unsuccessful”
Tried sprint tv: Same old: Cannot connect to server (7004)
Downloaded the tv & fix posted on this thread, ran tv again, then fix & same thing
Will redo & try again
Root ROM:
Can't get to download fully and/or without errors via hotfile link provided, trying again.
Got it downloaded finally!
Will burn later... or maybe Sunday/Monday Very busy..
DCD Herman:
23081
had to install sprint tv & fix (redoing rom, ran it before Sprint carrier cab install)
WORKS!!!!! (as well as it ever did)
Follow instructions on above post make sure you do the dcdcarrier cab.
I will try the carrier cab on other ROM's to see if it makes a diff.
Sprint TV Version 1.7.1.89014
VGA
*edit* yea, so it must be the WVGA one, apparently there isn't a VGA one...?
Didn't work for me on the last ROM... but Root has it working fine.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...t=sprinttv+cab
edit... 1.7.1.89014 works on the newest Rootrom 12/13 great. His newest rom does not have sprint tv in it and after trying serveral other versions of sprint tv (1.6.4.74603, 1.6.4.77515) which did not work I tried 1.7.1.89014 and it does work right off the bat. The only thing from what i can tell is an issue is that the scroll bar on the right is cut off in the guide screen although this is not a big issue as you can drag that channels on the left just the same.
Re: Sprint TV 100% Working!
I too can verify that the CAB listed in the TP2 thread (listed as "Sprint TV WVGA") does work on a WM 6.5.1 build. One odd thing is I don't get any playback controls - but then again its been so long since I used Sprint TV, I cannot remember if it shows them normally... Also, when in landscape mode it goes off the edge of the screen. Could it be that both of these are due to the fact that it is a WVGA version, perhaps?
going to work up a guide to all the little hoops & tricks of Sprint TV when I get time, you don't need Mr. X cab, but should run Sprint provisioning if your not on a Sprint stock ROM, both on TP & TP2 unless the ROM has it auto built in, but most don't.
On a TP2 there's a trick, I'll get the exact details, can't remember, but I think it has something like this: You have to start in portrait & then open keyboard, press a key & then It'll work fine on energy ROM
On a TP you can't get landscape but it does work with the WVGA cab!
